Adler's Prelude - CraftyHere is another color work for Adler's Prelude. Here we get to know some more about Ashien that might surprise a lot of people. It sure surprised Andria.
I've had this idea for a while. Just seems kind of ironic. One who doesn't wear clothes, normally, is talented in making them herself.
Here we also get a look of Ashien when she was about twelve years old. I was going for a sort of "rice paper" texture on these flashback panel. I really wanted to sell that this is the past. The texture didn't turn out as well as I would like, but still came out pretty good.
Not sure many will pick up on this, but Yuriko is just waving. Seems she's learned to wave, and Adler's finding it so interesting.
The setting is a play date for the kids in Ashien's home. Explains why she's dressed like that, or should I say 'not'?
I'm rather pleased with the coloring of this page in general. Lot of little details and in many of the panels the backgrounds were completely digitally made. It can be kind of tricky to get that tatami rug look right.
I'm wondering if anyone will notice the pattern of Adler's kimono is based on.
I look forward to everyone's thoughts on the picture.

Ashien just enjoys being nude. She at least wears a top most of the time. Where is is now is much cooler then where she comes from.

Ashien's skills at making clothes just happens to benefit Adler. Sort of taking something that she enjoys and doing something for someone she loves. It also makes him look cuter.
Ash would prefer sitting around the house nude, but when she does wear clothes she can be rather picky.

Mostly. Lot for her own clothes are her own creation. Mostly she wear simple sandals. She can buy those in store, but also makes them. For the most part she walks barefoot.

I'm curious how many will still be interested when they get a peek at her darker side. People have mostly just seen her cuter side when she's with Adler since he brings it out of her.

So far people have gotten so see Ashien's kind and sweet side with Adler. I do have an idea that shows off her darker side. Not directed toward Adler though. Just some seriously unlucky thugs.
Yes I can also sew, but I don't really do things as complicated as clothing. I did make my own Roman blinds for my bedroom.

Before Adler I wouldn't call her cold hearted. More closed hearted.
They aren't that hard to make. Once you know the basic idea of them. You can make them on the cheap and they look nice.

hillarious dont see that much in a comic about a single mom and her kid keep it up you balance comedy and feelings so wel and your style is so like Fred P. work and yet different ill be watching out for your first publications altough it will probaly be impossible to get them in holland. (ps sorry for my grammar)

I'm a big fan of Fred Perry's work. He see him as my artistic idol. I've never had so much fun drawing in this free formed manga style.

hee it wasnt ment as critique it was just different and i certanly like it beter as the most origin stories (to much drama) and Fred Rules even with me getting his stories a month later as you guys (Dutch import and distribution are terrible here i live in a back area Groningen or as we say "up north" and i have to look up punctuation because iam mostly selfthaught but thanks and aigain continue your wonderful work i loved the Sybian episode.

hee the possibilitys for naughty stuff is great but bring it gently to much trolls here and i dont get it in artistic nudes you can see everything but hardly any get banned like Levelord (thank god he is back) so i dont get it but iam Dutch and we got quite liberal views on eroticisme and jokes but alas even here we got trolls and puritans but please continue the good and especialy funny work.
