This was very informative and helpful, but one quick question:
How do you do your lineart? Are you using normal Ink in this picture, a really dark pencil, or are you digitally inking it? Because when you zoomed in on the lines, it almost looked like pencil, but the final image looks so crisp clean and bold.

Actually I tend to use all three techniques, though not on the same image.
This one was just cleaned-up pencils that I adjusted the levels on to make the lines a bit darker and get rid of the grey on the paper.
In other cases, I either ink by hand my drawing and scan it, or digitally ink over a sketch in Photoshop.

the 'big blank space' was pretty funny too. It's just really simply laid out, I haven't used drawing/painting progs for years and the layering and stuff melts my head so this looks good to me!
