Description
I always wondered where some deviants got those tiny glasses for drinks, shakes or ice cream. In my opinion, buying them is way too expensive, so I thought about a way to make them myself. Here is my first attempt, I hope it helps you
Thank you for the great TI Graphic Pack I used here.

Thanks! It's just a prototype though but you're right. It reminds me of the fancy glass cups in our local ice cream parlor

I'm glad you like it! If you come up with better ones than I made (not difficult since it's only a prototype) I'd love to see them!

What a neat idea, now to find a form for 1/4 scale.

Nice!
I always wanted to do these kind of thing-
Do you think it could work if instead of a pen I use a marble for making a bowl-like shape?

What did you fill your glass with? I really doubt that you could bake the plastic so that means deco gel and TLS are out.

right tls works only for the thicker plastic stuff and only on lower temperatures for short times in the oven before it bends.
I used window colours

Holy Cow what a great idea! Ive been using the eraser caps on those cheap pop-a-ble pencils from the dollar store or the cap tops off of tye dye bottles...little things like that.

Really good tutorial, anyways i was wondering which type of plastic did you use, and which is better thin or thick plastic?

geekySquirrel In reply to PClayCreations [2012-05-28 09:36:19 +0000 UTC]
it depends on what you prefer. I tried both and like the thick plastic better because it does not get holes as easily as the thin one does. The downside is that it is harder to cut with scissors and tends to splinter. Either way you need to practise to find it out.

This is a great and creative idea. Do you think I can use perspex for this?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
geekySquirrel In reply to rui95 [2011-09-17 09:39:29 +0000 UTC]
I think (but I'm not sure) that perspex ("acrylic glass") is what the ikea frames are made of. then you can use it, but it must not be too thick (mine was about 1-2mm). just remember to do it outside or with an open window

Cool! I've melted plastic before, but with a heat gun, and it didn't work as well. I think a lighter would be easier to control. And yeah, I'd recommend opening the windows or doing this outside, plastic packaging can be made of many different types of plastic so it's hard to be sure of what kind of fumes they'll release.

geekySquirrel In reply to SnowFox102 [2011-04-29 09:46:24 +0000 UTC]
just make sure you don't hold it too long under the plastic or it will burn a hole in it.
