The unholy union between man and Machine. Here, the Staevik prepare thousands of subjects.Thousands of people who will lose everything that makes them human.
To become thousands of ungodly killing machines..
A Staevik Scientists prepares to move stage 1 subjects onto stage 2, to begin the removal of non-essential organic material. Stage 1 is pumping them full of nano-machines that will replace 70% of the subjects red blood cells and act as it's white blood cells. They will eat away at nerves so that the subject will lose all feeling to pain and prepare the subject internally for Stage 2 so that it will be a faster process.

Seriously though, with unfeeling cyborg soldiers and RAPTOR units packs backing them up, the galaxy doesn't stand a chance.

Not to mention their Navy, which is pretty much like... nothing but armor and guns. You'd be surprised how much more room you have to make your walls thicker and add more guns once you get rid of all that pesky "mess-halls" or "living quarters" stuff now that you have an army that requires no food or sleep.

I myself have designed an alien race that are all AIs. Although they use robotic "avatars" from time to time, they have no need for corridors or other rooms so they can build powerful warships half the size.

See that's kinda what I was going with here, though less AI-y and more no need for most of that stuff since the ship is nearly automated anyway.
but here you still need storage space to fit a bunch of marines for boarding parties to capture ships and crew and such.

Many have some sort of Cybernetic augmentations. It's kinda a normal thing to do over there. But to augment themselves this much? that's something that really only the military does to 'volunteers'

Why do I get the feeling most of the "volunteers" aren't voluntary.
Also, I would like to create a corporation in your setting based in the Terran Federation. They specialize in building ships (domestic and military), developing and building weapons, research & development of technology and also have large scale mining operations.
They would design warships for the Terran fleet. Not any main ships or ships-of-the-line, mostly support ships like torpedo frigates, missile boats, small offensive cruisers and defense stations. They would also make war-droids: defense mechs, scout drones, and my personal favorite: the Medusa drone; a vacuum/low gravity infiltration unit.
They would also sell lots of civilian ships, control large commercial fleets and own huge mining operations. I thought they'd be good for fleshing out your universe.
The corporation is: Volcorp Galactic (parent company), Volcorp Ind.(subsidiary company) which builds ships, VolTech(subsidiary company) which focus on R&D and weapon tech, and lastly, Volcanium Mining(subsidiary company).

Terra already does have a primary manufacturer of it's warships Terwide Industries and Karkith Heavy shipping. though not saying there can't be another corporation working on other types of ships for sure. Though smaller warships and stations are something I don't really have a company made for yet, so it's definitely fine by me.
There's a huge market for civilian ships of all kinds out there. People buy and sell. In many areas it's the lowest bidder wins, but the more advanced independent nations definitely pay higher.
Overall I'd say go for it. I haven't really done much work with the corporate side of things outside of Trident company really, so aside from the 12-ish companies other than them i've created, there's stil a very large market
