Description Color Plate of a Pzkpfw-IV Ausf.B. The Ausf.B differed from the Ausf.A in having a single straight 30mm thick drivers plate with a new driver's visor, a new gun mantel, new vision ports on turret front, 30mm thick cupola, reduced superstructure width, elimination of the fold out anti-aircraft MG mounted on the left (port) side of the superstructure and shortened exhaust muffler for the turret motor.

[Details of this specific tank]
Here is a Pzkpfw-IV Ausf-B operating sometime in early 1941. This can be determined from the addition of a standard Pzkpfw-III/IV stowage bin to the vehicle’s rear turret. However, all other standard modifications (listed in the plate above) appear to be missing. The vehicle’s only markings are its tactical number ’113’ stenciled in red with white outlines on the turret’s sides and rear. Its color scheme consists of an overall coat of dark gray (RAL 7027).
