Description
To see the finished piece---
To show you how i work when i do huge art pieces like this.
Its mostly like painting with real paint, i use the eyedropper alot and never have more than two layers at the same time working on.
---
^^ Hope it helps people alittle, This is mainly for to show how you can work through a piece, not how to draw like i do. xD its better to find the style and method you love doing yourself, but its always a help seeing how others do it to get started ^^

Wonderful wonderful! Just tell me what kind of paintbrush you used or I'll guess either solid one or the cloudy one. The next question .. it looks like you started at low opacity then build yourself up to 100% opacity. Right?
I'm very new at coloring and I always end up using smudge on alot of stuff x.X
Just wondering if you used the opacity when coloring it looks kind of gross at first xD where I grab my smudge tool and blend the stuff in. Did you use it too?

I used the normal one for photoshop x3 I rarely use custom brushes i just change the opacity when i feel like it needs to be softer or harder
I use smudgetool sometimes, but never smudge the whole picture, you need some hard edges, I also use the opacity and hardness on the smudgetool if i use it ^^ but mostly its just the brush

I LOVE THIS. I've never made digital art before, but I'm getting a tablet for my birthday and I can already tell that this guide is going to be my new best friend.

Btw, which kind of tablet should I get? There are so many. D8 People say that the Wacom Bamboo Fun is great, but it looks expensive.

This will be SO helpful!
I was just wondering - do you do the background all on one layer?
And how big do you usually make your canvas size? I never know xD
Thanks c:

You can do the same thing with backgrounds as i showed with the character with layers ^^ it works well when you do lineart for it. I usually have two layers for background, one for sky and one for everything else
