Description
This page starts out with two diametrically opposed drawings. The upper left (#1) was a drawing I did to gauge how well I was drawing that evening, after having not drawn ponies for a few days. It turned out quite well in my eyes, which encouraged me to come back the next morning and continue.
The drawing just to the right of that (#2), on the other hoof, was much less successful. I don't quite remember what I was trying to do, but this CLEARLY wasn't it. I started to think that I was having 'good days' and 'bad days', which, to my logical mind, meant to me that there was some variable in my drawing technique that I had to identify to attain greater consistency. This would drive my drawing goals for the next week.
That evening, after talking with some ponies on /r/mlpdrawingschool, I tried some anatomy. My first attempt (#3) was an attempted copy of a skeleton reference . Though clearly not perfect, it helped me learn WHY different parts were in different places, which really helped me improve. I drew a few more legs across the page for practice.
