Description
This is a step-by-step guide to making a base texture layer for water. It helps if you already have water made and want to add some fluid detail to it. Because by itself, it will still look artificial without ripples/splashes and distortion of objects inside it.This Example - is a finished image of mine where this guide was used to good effect. There's a lot to consider when blending this guide into your own work.
Give credit if this helped you, thanks.

Heh, good to hear. Often I read tuts which are wayyy too informal and riddled with handwriting that ends up being just mess. I really wanted to avoid being sloppy . Thanks!

While the end product wasn't at all what I was looking to put into my painting, one of the intermediate steps helped me immensely! I would never have thought of using a scatter brush to make a water surface.

That's cool. Sometimes tuts I've seen only needed to spark an idea and I could go off and do what I wanted =]
