This is cool, but Shouldn't it be more of an original? Sorry, I'm new to pixel art, and step 2 where it's outlined, you do that yourself by just pixeling around the sketch right?

hey can i ask you a question? i tried a pixel art again, its like my second or third try... and my friend came and bashed it but im not sure what hes getting at.... he wasnt trying to be mean or anything, i just cant figure out what hes talking about O.o something about the shading even though he shades the same stupid way... can you look at this for me and tell me what hes trying to say? heres link to deviation

Hmm..i think this is really helpful, But i still have a problem. I use photoshop 6 and i have a question.
You know for the sketch? how big was your layer?
I hope i didnt cause too much problem!

Usually the sketch is 2-4 times the size of the finished product, depending on amount of detail, for me. D: Most of the time just 2x though.

And I always thought that people can draw these ones at just Paint! I always drew on simple Paint things like that... yeah...Photoshop these days make life much easier I see...lol

Gah, how can you do pixel in Photoshop? XD I have to dumb down to paint in order to get anywhere.
