Description
Here is a cleaned and quickly colored version of my Ahat-Hir pic. I am still thinking about the colors and I hope to go back and add some more color detail and possibly a back ground as well.I might also put together a reference sheet. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks! I have lots of influences, but I don't really commit them to memory (I'm not so good with names). When I was young I was really inspired by Frank Frazetta's work (still am actually), but I don't think I have picked up much from him from a technical aspect.

Awesome! Frank Frazetta's one of my favorite artists as well (though I'm more of the Moebius kinda guy, check his art out)! But I do like your style of inking, it has a nice "Roughness" that I find visually stimulating.

I'm on a similar thought process involving the color as Megalania. If he's made of Adamantine plates then you'd think he'd be pretty metallic looking.

Well to be honest I was going with the historical definition of adamantium: diamond. Unprocessd diamonds are often rather black looking, but I was think more along the lines of really dense carbon (which is basically what diamonds are).
However, I am now thinking it should probably be black hole matter or something similar.

I love the dark brown outside-that really makes the pale purple glow in the eyes and mouth stand out.

Well he looks darn impressive, that's for sure. However, I thought you said he was made out of adamantium, or at least some other metallic element. Wouldn't he be more of a silver color then, therefore? For a background, I'd think maybe something in space, but at the same time some kind of reference should be there so the viewer can try and grasp his sheer size. How to accomplish that, I dunno. Otherwise I think it's great- the pose seems fitting fora monster of his character and I can't argue with what he looks like whatsoever.

Yes, I did say its skin is admantium. However, traditional adamant was the word use to describe diamonds (becauase they are so hard). That was the usage I was referencing. Thus it is really ultra dense carbon - not metal at all.
However, I am probably going to change it to black hole matter or something similar
