Description
Well here is a preview of my Ghidorah Resurrection. I think it is pretty set, but I am still thinking about the legs and wings - any suggestions are very welcome.I will put this into scraps when I post the final version.
And a little more of the Bio:
... It is worshiped and feared in many parts of the universe where its existence is known. Its avatars take many shapes, but normally some form of multi-headed dragon or serpent. Its power appears infinite and it...
P.S. This was all done digitally in my new tablet. It is my first serious work on a tablet and I pretty happy thus far.

I like it, very cool.
About the flight thing, Me and kaijuverse talked about that maybe kaiju have some form of electro-magnetic/anti-gravitational field which allows them to lift off the ground.

Thanks.
Yes you have to assume something like that. i'm going with Dark Energy currently for my explanation. The only thing we seem to know about it is that ii makes up about 70% of our universe, we don't know what it is and it has something like a repulsive effect on mass - thus anti-gravitational.

Welcome.
Whoa, getting a bit too techincal for me. Still, I see what you mean. Apollosaurex and another kaiju I am creating as a nemesis use flight like Ultraman with wings for change in direction, weapons, and display. Another kaiju that I am working on is a wyvern-style monster which flies by some form of EM energy to stay afloat, but beats it's wings.

Yes, I have a similar concept with Rodan, Ghidorah, Gigan, etc. The concept is that the wings, sails or whatever push against the dark energy, or channel the dark energy or something similar. Thus, in a sense, the wings are functional - thought they are definitely not the only way to use or channel dark energy to fly (or for other uses).

Yeah, similar idea here. I don't call it dark energy though. Probably cosmic rays or wave, or even Kaiju Lift Wavelength Energy.

Kaiju Lift Wavelength Energy! I like it.

Whenever possible go with the more complex and difficult - that is what the govenment would do!

Or something more simple like Kaiju Anti-Gravity Wave or Kaiju Lifting Wave.

Regarding the horns, they look great-glad I could offer constructive input on that front.
Given a couple hours to mull it over, the necks aren't that big a deal, and are nicely-balanced proportionately. Quibble withdrawn.
Indeed, bat-wings are damned frail-looking...mainly 'cause bats (like many actual flying crittes) had to evolve away from impact-resistant bones & musculature to get airborne in the first place. Oddly enough, swans-of all the inoffensive-looking birds-can & do deliver baseball-bat-class whacks with the wing-knuckle if their personal space is violated.
For Ghido's leading edge, I really didn't envision anything fancy...just make that outer wing finger about twice as thick as it currently is at the base, and taper from there.
Thanks for the prompt response.

Actually, after seeing GS King Ghidorah Neo and watching some King Ghidorah on youtube I actually wished I had made the necks longer! I guess I hadn't looked at the original in a while. I still think the necks I have look best with my design, but damn those long snakey necks are cool!

I'll see what I can do about the wing. Let me know what you think when I post the final.

Yesss...a truly solid update on the K.G. front. Flexible-looking, well-defined torso; nifty talons; dual tails with enough useful length; an excellent new wing structure (with hands, no less)...and from this angle I'm really starting to dig those heads.
Two teeny tiny bone-splinters of contention: the necks seem a bit short, and I can't help thinking the leading-edge wing finger could be a bit thicker, thus enabling flyby strikes & punishing swings. Please disregard both if they'd demand any serious effort to tweak at this point.
As ever, fine attention to detail & overall job.

Thank you. By the way, you inspired me to make the horns more antler-like with your comments on the original sketches. The result is something between horns and antlers. i hope you like them better.
I don't think I will change the necks. I originally (before the previous sketches I posted) was going to make them much shorter and muscular, something like a Jeff Easley dragon (if you know his work from dragonlance etc.). But I changed my mind and I think the current necks have good proportion balance with the general design. Thank you for your comment nonetheless.
That is a good idea. I have always thought that dragon wing fingers (as rendered by most artists) in general look remarkably frail (like bats). Unfortunately, I am not sure I will be able to draw it properly. I have a vague idea of how it might look in my head, but I am not sure I can do it. I will give it a try though. The damn wings sure have taken a lot of time and thought!

Wow. That looks incredible. It looks powerful, and sleek. Oddly graceful as well, which is hard to pull off with a multi-heades creature.
This is going to be one of, if not the best, Ghidorah designs ever, I think.

Thanks. I think I might change the position of the left (forground) wing, bu other than that I'm just going to clean it up, add some more detail and color it.

I think it looks wonderful. The heads are spot on, and the body looks suitably muscular while still flight capable (emphasis on the word "looks," since I'm sure his wings would have to be a hell of a lot bigger to lift him off the ground in reality, but in fiction they look big enough).
The idea of Ghidorah's dragon form being just the avatar for a grander, Cthulhu-esque Old One is neat.

Thanks. Actually powered lift-off would be impossible for any real "animal" close to KG size. Neither the largest bird (the extinct argentine condor w/ a 25ft wingspan) nor the largest pterasaurs are thought to have been able to power-lift themselves off of the ground. They had to use rising thermals or jump off cliffs to get the required lift. But then again, before these creatures where found scientist thought it was impossible for such large animals to even fly!
Ya, I think Daikaiju in general have a rather Lovecratian feel to them. Either as Elder Gods or Old Ones. That being said, the real purpose of the avatar is to explain the different "incarantions" of Ghidorah seen in the movies. This way all the various Ghidorahs are actually just aspects of the true Ghidorah who's "real" (preferred?) from is sketched here and will be pictured in my upcomming resurrection reference sheet.
Thank you for the comment and the fave.
