Description
I wondered what the DnD Tiamat would look with the new chromatic dragons added to her classic form. So I did a quick sketch and color. I might go back and clean this up and shade it some time.Related content

No problem, personally I think a cross between the 3.5 & 4.o might work well.

Ha! Fantastic...I see the green is still kinda 3.5. Great idea...makes sense too, excellent execution.

It is all relative. This was quick for me, but it still took me about 1.5 hours to sketch. If I wanted to be serious it would take me 3-4 hours at least. I'm pretty slow.

but your pieces come out so awesome. 1-5 hours is not slow at all. hell in order for me to draw something as good as this it would take me days lol

Well, like I said it is relative. Some people on DA could produce a high quality "finished" work in that time. And thank you again for the praise - it always feels good!

So they have brown, grey and purple dragons now? I really have to get that new Monster Manual...

They are not in the monster manual they are in the 4e Draconomicon "Chromatic Dragons." However, they are not new - just renamed. They used to be called Fang (grey), Deep (purple) and I'm not sure what the browns used to be!?

As I recall, brown dragons were always brown dragons.

Thanks. I wasn't familar with them (I've only really played 1st edition and now 4th edition) and wether or not they had a different origin.

I wasn't aware of them being revamped into true chromatic dragons though. Then again, I haven't seen the 4th edition monster manual.
What bugs me is, what happened to Yellow Dragons?

They were not in the Monster Manual, they where in the 4e Draconomicon: Chromatic Dragons.
Shit - I didn't even know they had yellow dragons.

Second edition, I believe. They have funky head shield things and spit burning desert sandblasters or something.

You are correct sir! I just looked through a pdf of the 2e Monsterous Compendium and found the yellow dragon (and brown too). I must say I find this information great:
"Although the existence of yellow dragons has long been predicted by
sages (based on theories of primary colors), the first specimen was spotted
only five or so years ago."
They just don't write like that anymore.

Probably sand dragons as that seems to be their theme.
