Description
Hey, hey, hey! Welcome to the 6th riddle of this premiere week! Want to know more details? click here! Like last time, the answer will be an episode part of this show. Also, please don't say the correct answer to all of your watchers "The correct answer is blah blah blah". So, here is the riddle for you to figure out the answer:Discerning a figure,
he made it all bitter.
And to let those know, this scorecard is part of my premiere week ranging from May 21st to the 27th, so be on the look out!
Clarence is one of the last shows I watched before my TV was sold, along with Total Drama: Pahkitew Island. Kind of like what I did with The Amazing World of Gumball, I used to watch this cartoon every time it airs and I was on time on every episode whenever Clarence airs. I stopped at Jeff's New Toy to focus on more stuff outside of television. In October 2014, when I heard that new episodes are out, I began watching the rest of the episodes of Clarence on Youtube up to Average Jeff.
This show, like the others, took me a trip down memory lane, but now, I've took care of all the episodes of the show. The percent of episodes I don't care about is 42.7%, which is still a big chunk of the show. To come my surprise, there is an epic episode that's so good, it got an "A" in my letter rating. Another surprise by me is the amount of bad episodes (there were only 2 bad episodes of the entire series so far). For a show that is almost okay, Clarence didn't got a Top 10 Worst list yet because there's only 9 episodes I don't recommend at all.
Well, the pie chart isn't as good as the other scorecard pie charts, but the writing here...
...is pretty alright. The premise, while generic and bland, sort of works because we at least get to see some 90s vibes and predict some character development. Any episode where the show takes a normal day situation exaggerates it into a more relatable, thought out, and entertaining episode with the right structure and pacing. Sure, it can get predictable, but I feel like Clarence has more creative writing. Do you people want to know where the okay episodes come from? They're kind of boring and has slow pacing. Of course, I feel like Clarence have humor. How's the humor? It's alright. Some gags are pretty gross/toilet humor, but I did love how some episodes were ironic to keep me entertained though. Now that's the humor, while unoriginal, can be ironic. As for the writing as a whole, it's just okay. Thanks to a lot of the episodes being really relatable in a creative and entertaining way, this show appears to do more with its slice-of-life atmosphere though it's admittedly boring.
Okay, the writing for the most part is pretty good. What's in for the animation?
The animation's okay. The faces look kind of ugly and the character designs are bland and generic. However, I liked some texturing and the colors used for the quality because I think they're trying to match with the textures. Not all of the character designs are bad, because the skin tones for each character is pretty much different. It can occasionally be an eyesore (The dream sequences) and everything about the quality is really dull. I don't have that much to talk about it, but I can say that I like the shapes of some characters and a few do look cute, but I think a few voices can be annoying. At least I did like a variety of the voice acting, but I didn't like that the children are voiced by adults instead of children. Jeff's voice is a problem for me because he sounded like an actual kid in Season 1, but in Season 2, he started to sound like a tween. Yeah... I'm hoping that the crew change his voice so that he feels young again instead of a 5th grader about to enter puberty. I realized that in one episode, Clarence told the audience that the series took place in 1994, but I'm not too sure because there are some scenes that don't feel like the 90s but instead something from present day. That's all I have to say. The animation is okay due to it being really bland, but I did like some features such as the colors and some nice character designs.
I wasn't that interested at the quality, but it's average for me. The characters are the best thing though after a long time of this aspect being the worst one:
The characters here are really relatable. They've been given character development, a personality that fits with their design, they can be funny sometimes and I liked how one of the characters have some cool traits. While the characters aren't the most original and interesting ones out there, I still love the way how they're written and acted. I liked how each of these characters are different from each other instead of feeling like they all have the same characteristic. Instead of a very obnoxious personality that made me pause an episode for a while and think about what just happened, they're sometimes acting in a cute way or some likeable traits that aren't the wrong thing. Yeah, there's even some characters that are references to other characters from other media. The characters are pretty likeable, but must face through blandness and good development and relatability on the way.
This is one of those shows when I first concluded the first season, it was just okay, but I wanted the show to be better on. This cartoon is almost okay. It solidly executed the writing and characters by being more creative, entertaining and relatable that made me think that this is the slice-of-life show I was looking for. Though it can be bland, it can also help me with some situations. So yeah, because of the blandness, this show is ample (70%), but I wished it could've been better executed. Now that Season 3 is on par with the other seasons, I thought that season will get better when it ends but for now, it's harmless and something I can watch again.

This show would have been much more popular if it came out about 10 years ago

Apologies, it's incorrect. "Figure" has another definition and I'm referring to the other meaning.

Pretty interesting opinion... also, for the riddle, I'm guessing Rough Riders Elementary.

Sorry, but it's not so close to the correct answer. Good try though.
