Description
From the beginning, Robin knew Slade's wasn't acting alone in his robot army. Immediately when he first met him, he recognized the robots he had. They were of LexCorp Design. In his wisdom, Robin confronted Lex Luthor, alone. Though Robin has faced Luthor before in the past, but never alone. Though at this point, despite his accomplishments, he is still young, and learning the trials and tribulations of confronting greater evil on his own. In the past when he and Batman teamed up with Superman, a plan was always in place. Find evidence to incriminate the bad guy, you win and save the day. But Luthor is something else. True even though Superman had no problems fighting him in a physical level, there was always that one reason why Luthor has persisted for so long: his intelligence. In spite not fighting in hand-to-hand combat, Luthor has endured Superman because of his terrifying intelligence. With his wealth, and the resources he has at his disposal, he was able to build Metropolis. Even if Robin or any of the Titans were to find a way to keep Luthor in prison, chances are two possibilities would occur. One, he would be out in a matter of hours, or even if he was successfully incarcerated, LexCorp can't function without Lex, and if there was one argument Lex made to Superman was this when they first met. "I own Metropolis. My technology built it. My will keeps it going, and nearly two thirds of its people work for me whether they know it or not." Say if your boss was fired and he was the only guy keeping the place you work running effectively. Now imagine him being replaced by a boss who is less than marginally competent, a few bad business decisions will mean that people can lose jobs or even homes. That was the dilemma Superman faced. Which is what Robin had to deal with after he found out Luthor helped Slade. Just so he could continue his campaign against metahumans or costumed heroes. The worst part was Lex wasn't afraid of Robin. He just saw a young man playing dress up, trying to be just his papa. And in Luthor's words "Imagine how disappointed he must be, that you've come so close to becoming your own man, yet fall so short."Robin only retorted with this. "This isn't over Lex. If you ever set foot in Jump City again, or any of your machines, The Teen Titans will take you down."
Lex only then replied and said "You and your team of kids are welcome to try."
