So there ya have it. My Naruto doujinshi, PAGE ONE. Featuring my fave kage and kunoichi.I had a poll asking how I should do this doujinshi after I finished the lineart and the majority voted for clean lineart with text.
Phew, thank you guys! That makes things a lot easier for me. But I figured I should give it a try and do some backgrounds and a little bit of tones and a little bit of color for the first page. Here on out, it'll be more simplistic and clean in style. A sorta imitation to Kishimoto's style (or in the shonen manga style tradition).
Surprisingly, the background didn't take me much time. Probably a 2-3 hours spread out thinly through the past week at the most. What helped me tremendously is my Rurouni Kenshin manga. LOL...XD; I also used a little bit of Hikaru no Go manga as well. Gave me ideas for little details. I'm still not completely happy, but its a little cooler than before when I was just going to submit it plain.
Oh yeah, drawing Gaara's sand is a bitch. THAT took me a while to do.
Anyways, for anyone whose confused, visiting Kazekage Gaara just "materialized" himself into Naruto's apartment building. Going up the stairs, he spots someone in front of Naruto's apartment door.
I don't know when the next page will come out, since I'll be busy with my other projects, but for now...I hope you guys like. ^^ Enjoy!

Keep in mind though, this is the first one-shot that'll belong to my epic of one-shots. So there will be a lot of Gaara and Hinata interaction, but not much in romantic terms.

I love love love this. It's very pretty. The sand came out excellently.
But I can't help but wonder...is she running towards a dead end? *sees only walls where she's turning* o.O;

Ps. YAY! writing his inner dialogue is a lot tougher than writing his spoken dialogue. LOL...
All I know is that originally in the manga, Gaara was supposed to be this rather polite quiet kid who was just friggin' psychotic on the side.

I know. He's actually really collected when he's not psycho pissed off. I don't know much about the manga myself, I don't have any ('cept 7, cause I won it somewhere) so I've not read Gaara. I only follow the show in japanese. I'm a sub-fan.
And good job on that by the way, I can't really think of how to write out his thoughts myself!

A crack pairing is one that more than likely will never happan, either because the characters have not interacted much with eachother or they've never met. Yet, because of personalities or a few unique similar circumstances/characteristics they might make an interesting pair IF they had met.
Tis called a crack pairing, cuz normally most people WOULD NOT have thought of it, lest they be high on something (or in this case are too imaginative or bored with canon). Hee hee, that's my definition of a crack pairing.

Yay! It's finally up! *puts in favorites* And his tattoo is in color, cool! So far, this looks promising, and I laughed when Gaara mentioned how Naruto asked him to "use the damn door", that was funny! And we get a glimpse of Hina-chan, yay! I eagerly look foward to the next page, you're doing a fantastic job.

Yay! ^o^ Thank you so much. Yup, I tried several different styles of toning here, and in the end decided to toss in a dash of color. (actually, I was too lazy to change his kanji to black and thought, oh what the hey...splash of color!)

And don't worry, alot of people have trouble writing Gaara. I've read alot of really good fan fics and alot of the authors say Gaara is a pain in the ass to write. I say this as well, reguarding my fan fic, which I'm still working on. In the chapter he's in, he just sounds out of character to me it makes me want to hit my head against the nearest wall repeatedly.

You did a great job with the panels, you know, your one of the only artist that I take heed of making sure I read all the artist comments, usually I just look at the person's art and favorite if I like it without reading the artist's comments.

aww! I'm sorry to keep you waiting! ;o; You're so nice! hee hee, that sand was troublesome, alright. I didn't know how to do it till it came to inking and toning it. I had to improvise cuz I couldn't find my naruto manga that has any of those scenes where he pops up amidst the sand.
