Thank you for the wonderful tutorial! You're not a bad teacher, not at all! But, I have a problem: my animation works perfectly, but even though I've made a button which works, and my actionscript has no errors, it doesn't work when I preview it. If I write stop, it stops the animation completely, and even though I click onto the start button it doesn't work, and if I don't, the button doesn't stop the animation. Please help!

Err.. deleted the file. The thing is that, when the animation stops, I want the button to continue it, but the button doesn't work. About the actionscript I kinda... err... deleted it

I'm having a little problem, when I select my button to add actions to it, the actionscript say that the current selection cannot have actions applied to it. I'm using actionscript 3 and flash cs4.

according to ma experience this this come when u havn't convert the thing in symbol .
and i will suggest u when u are working on a thing lock all other layers. why ? casue sometime when u are selecting a thing flash select things from other layers too so always lock other layers
and about of ur problem just try to create this thing in symbol ^^ then try to add action ^^

I tried to make a bottom but i canΒ΄t write in some action =/ It says that " current selection can nothave a action appiledto it " i donΒ΄t under stand what that means..

Uhm...I followed all the steps and made the preloader bar and the button, but I'm having problems.
When I finished the preloader steps, I tried previewing it but it wasn't doing anything. It just sat there
I thought maybe I had to do the button next, so I did that. But when I leave the screen to edit my button (the up,down,hit stuff) and go back to my scene, my button is gone! How I put the button into a frame on the scene?
I'm lost. I'm using Macromedia FlashMX 2004, dunno if that has an effect on it or something.

uhm, could you send me a screencap of all your frames with the code, all I can think of is you didn't name a frame 'playnow' so it could go to it when it loaded.. you have to go into your symbols and drag the button onto your scene. its a little window on the right hand side

Thanks, but I think I figured it out. I'm not doing a continual flash animation and more of a digital comic so the buttons control the speed that it flows at. And yea, the buttons were in my library, I felt like a dummy when I figured that out XD

When I C&P the Scene Change codes and changed the scene to the one I needed it to go to it came up with syntex error and all the other codes worked!

try hitting another enter inbetween the code and the last '}'
