Description Remember that dump I told you about? Well, here it is.

I tried to keep this sort of organized. The ones with red numbers (1-6) at the top actually relate to an actual episode in some way.

The rest (7-14) don't.

--

1 - Ep15 - This was going to have more to it. But the second panel kept being a bitch so I gave up XD Carolina, everybody!

2 - Ep16 - Another DNF. Only now it's North's turn!

3 - Ep16 - My heart goes out to B-Team. Their only job was to be the plot device that lead to Tex and Carolina having to competing for the briefcase. That hurts.

4 - Ep16 - Seriously. When did they switch places?

5 - Ep17 - First Carolinaface I ever drew. Still my favorite.

6 - Ep18 - I'm a bluetard through and through, but Grif shouting from that ledge had me in in tears I was laughing so hard.

--

7 - North still gives me trouble, so this was a practice. Then I liked how North turned out. Then I had to draw York (I mean, obviously) and then I remembered that they both die. Now I can't help but see this as them being ghosts (actual ghosts, not AI XD; ) or something :C

8 - I found a new 'draw abs' tutorial and I wanted to try. Then it just sort of evolved into a drawing of Wash. I don't know what happened. >////>

9 - THE DIREKTORRRR. I just luvs to draw his face.

10 - Best ad-lib wins go go go go go!

11 - Wash's awkwardface. I felt like that needed to be here

12 - Wash. Before and After the 'Epsilon Incident.' He's still quite snarky....but a whole lot meaner XD

There's actually a reason why Wash goes from black hair to gray. I think as Epsilon started to decay, it took a lot of Wash's energy to remain in control and resist unravelling along with the AI. That excess stress on his mind/body put a huge strain on his very biology: he got sick, lost weight, grew paler, his eye color lightened and his hair prematurely grayed. That's also when he got those bags under his eyes that I always draw him with

When Epsilon had been removed, however, his condition didn't change: the damage was done. His very DNA was stressed to the point of degradation; Epsilon literally sucked the life out of him. Now his new appearance serve as as a external tell to Wash's internal condition. He's constantly reminded of how he's been changed, and others are constantly warned that he's not as healthy as claims to be...or something.

All I really wanted was an excuse for Wash to have gray hair without being too old XD; But since I had to make that make sense somehow I came up with this. His hair was all normal colored...then EPSILON comes along and makes it better changes it

13 - Having my artistic genesis in anime, I love the idea of people coughing up blood when they're injured/emotionally broken. Wash fits into both of those categories nicely, and thus this picture happened.

Thank you, Doc, for stating the obvious.

14 - TUCKER. I saw a dude at a coffee shop once and, I shit you not, I looked at his hair and immediate thought "TUCKER WOULD HAVE THAT HAIR." And greekfro Tucker was born.

8. ...I'm going to have to request more of Shirtless Wash...for reasons
12. I think the black-to-gray hair is a nice touch to your design of him. And I love his expression with the "believable" crack.

He seems to be quite popular here....

The way I see it, as Epsilon began to unravel, it took all of Wash's strength...and then some...to resist and remain in control. This put an enormous stress on his mind and body. The added stress made him sick, made is his skin paler, his eyes lighter, and his hair prematurely grayer.

Once Epsilon was removed however, the changes didn't reverse. And now they serve as the external symptoms of Wash's internal damage. They're a reminder to him that he's not who he once was, and they're a warning to others that he's not as normal as he claims. Or something.

I just wanted Wash to have gray hair without making him old XD;

Next time you point out stuff like York starting to drive or whatnot if you want to put it in it's own image that would be awesome.
I just posted it and went "everything in this is true".
And I would love for you to get into LFTO. Seriously I'm one of the Shizno producers (our podcast) and would love to get you on there too. You seem pretty sharp. It'd be nice to have you on.

You want me to send you just the part of York and Maine? So you can edit your original post? Or is it too late for that? ^^'
Woah, I didn't know you guys had a podcast too, that's awesome!
^u^ Aww, that's so nice of you to say! I don't usually forum much, but this actually looks like fun. I love talking about potential theories and such ^^

niriall In reply to Jspx [2011-11-05 20:44:22 +0000 UTC]

Dont worry after 15 minutes you can't edit anymore.

We do have a podcast. Burnie was interrogated past two seasons by us but this year we're trying to get other cast and crew memebers. I'm going to ask Jeff Williams, I know Oro thinks he can get Brandon onboard, maybe even Matt.

Should be interesting.
Go take a listen. I run the European version because I am in Israel for a year but I stayed up late for the last one. Its not up yet but it should be soon.

And the forum is a lot of fun if you're willing to put up with us getting off topic when we run out of theories. That's happened a bit more this season than any other season. Needs more plot...

Jspx In reply to niriall [2011-11-06 00:26:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh. Shows how much I know about commenting ^^'
I'll definitely check it out

Haha, I'm starting to notice that over there. It's quite amusing
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that If you sit down and ask "so, what happened this season?" Not a whole lot comes to mind... They must be saving all of it for the season finale. What jerks XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

niriall In reply to Jspx [2011-11-06 00:36:45 +0000 UTC]

Well no. Its just that this season has been... plotless. The plot JUST KICKED IN and theres only one or two episodes left.
And the season finale had BETTER be really awesome after this season. I see a lot of new users but most of them are not being active on the forums.
If you go to Community Stats for RT it says there's an average of 4 Posts per minute. Used to be in season 6-7 ish there were 7-9 posts per minute.
They need to give us something to talk about, you know?
I kind of feel like this season was a big test of CGI and what they can do and can't do and how fast they can do it and that's why there was so much CGI. It was setting up for season 10- the real meat and stuff.
Hopefully it'll work out. Ill stick around for the community even if 10 sucks honestly. ^-^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jspx In reply to niriall [2011-11-06 00:50:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I hate to admit it, but I agree with you there.
Season 6 was just brilliant. If I had known that forum was there then, I would have been all over it with my crackpot theories and explainations XD;
I can think of a few things from the previous seasons that I personally would want to talk about, and they're kinda relevant? But I'm not sure if they've been discussed yet. /doesn't want to be an obnoxious n00b
Yeah, someone suggested that this season was more of a meet-'n-greet: the characters are being established now and will come to grow later. It is sad that there seems to be a correlation between increase in CGI and a decrease of plot. I hope that was unintentional :\
Ohyes. I hated season 8, but I remain nothing if not loyal. Will probably stick around until the end :T

niriall In reply to Jspx [2011-11-06 01:19:15 +0000 UTC]

OH NO YOU DONT.
If you have theories we wanna hear 'em.
I was a noob last year and its a lot simpler than you think. The only people we have problems with are people who post without thinking.
And Burnie says he misses season 6 and will try to go back there season 10 in an interview recently. Apparently he didn't like season 9 either.

Y HALO THERE WASH.

I love your team B. Poor Wyoming, looks so...funny. I was thinking of writing something about them since they got so sidelined, if we never get to see it in canon.

I've got headcanon about the gray hair too, but it's pretty much just "Epsilon puts a lot of stress on a guy". You've got moar?

#4 confused me too, but I think that was right after Maine jumped out and impaled the guy who was carrying the package. So York must have moved over then.

Teach me your clothing-drawing skillz.

Dude, I look at people and go "you look like -insert RvB character here- whenever possible. (And still think that Tucker has dreads, but whatever.) Your drawings are cute and expressive and full of life and.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jspx In reply to Nemonus [2011-11-03 22:54:44 +0000 UTC]

HALLO THAR INDEED.

You should do that. Mostdef
Seirously, we didn't even get to see what happened to them; they didn't even get a fighting chance.

Nah, that's pretty much my headcanon too...but I tend to ramble if not restrained XD; I like to go into the biology of how Epsilon effected Wash the way he did XD;
Mine does extend to make him paler and lighten his eye color too

But, when Carolina calls Team B and gets the a-okay to persue the briefcase, York is already in the driver's seat, locking on to the tracking signal. This is before Maine jumps out to kill that guy. D:
It's okay, RT, we still love you <3

PFFT. What skillz? I hate drawing clothes XD; Uh. When in doubt, ADD WRINKLES?!

Hahaha. I haven't gotten to that level yet...although I do look at people for general inspiration: Poses, hiarstyle, shape, etc. They tend to get weirded out by it, though XD;

Dreads, huh? Never was much into dreads...but I could see it 8)

Nemonus In reply to Jspx [2011-11-03 23:05:31 +0000 UTC]

<3

I might just! After I finish this depressing fic about everyone going insane. Yes. (Did you read "Collapse"? It's pairingy but I'm proud of it and it's Freelancery.)

I like biology. Paleness makes sense. What color does your headcanon have his eyes as being?

Oooh, I had a feeling I'd gotten that wrong. *confused...like Delta* But we still do love RT, and Monty's glorious long take...I preordered the DVD because of youuuuu

BUT YOU SOMEHOW PUT THE WRINKLES IN THE RIGHT PLACES! XD

lol okay, so it's not that often. Mostly, here, I just see people and go "you look like Shannon". *dies*

I'm into dreads in a theoretical sort of way (I like to draw them, but irl think they tend to look kindof grody), but idk, I just like the idea of Tucker hiding like a ton of hair inside his helmet and being really proud of it. That's another fic on the 'to do' list.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jspx In reply to Nemonus [2011-11-04 05:09:14 +0000 UTC]

Going insane is always fun. Can't wait to read what you come up with ^^ (Oh you bet I did. Very pairingy and freelancery. I loved it.)

I know, right? Biology kicks ass

I always pictured Wash with blue eyes. Black hair/blue eyes is always a combination I've been attracted to, so naturally I gave it to him When Epsilon came in and changed everything, his eyes went from normal blue to an icier, wilder blue. Hee.

That's probably when they meant Maine and York to change places, they just didn't realize it had already happened. Yes. Love forever.
awwwwwwwyay! >u<

THAT'S USUALLY ON ACCIDENT. I dunno. I just usually put them where the fabric ends (sleeves, hem) and whenever it looks like the fabric has gone on too long without a fold in it. XD I wish I was kidding... XD;

Hahaha, I'd do that too, but there aren't many bald people around here :C

XD;

Ohman. I could see that. Of course, I'm now picturing an all out afro....just springing to life when Tucker takes his helmet off. Like a sponge. XD;
Awww, to do lists can be such a downer

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nemonus In reply to Jspx [2011-11-04 20:03:08 +0000 UTC]

The next one's going to be pretty good I think, and by that I mean heart-wrenchingly depressing. Also, it's got York and Carolina.

Hehe, gotta love sci-fi biology. For that reason I figure the Freelancers have AI ports like Spartans do, but the AI in the Haloverse are housed in a chip, which wouldn't make sense re: Church. (Kinda crossing over conversations here, sorry! )

Niiice. I like the LukeMcKay Wash with brown hair (idk, hair color could differentiate him from Church too.) But you can't get much bluer (dare I say "icier") eyes than Shannon McCormick, so I go with that even though it's not usually an eye color I care for.

Yeah, probably!

B-but how do you know which direction they go? o.0

LOL!

Hehe, but it can't be too much of a downer when it's a to-do list of fanfic. I just have to get back to my realHalo story!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jspx In reply to Nemonus [2011-11-05 18:24:05 +0000 UTC]

IF YOU HAVE IT BE YORK WHO HAS TO PUT CAROLINA DOWN I SWEAR TO GOD... ;A;
Ohhh, you know I'm a sucker for that. And them. >u< Now I very much can't wait! ^^

It would make sense if the RvB-verse would have similar set up to the Halo-verse, considering they're supposed to be almost one & the same...>.> But yeah then Church comes along and is like "NOPE I'M A GHOST" and ruins everything. Omega too.
See, I just think Church, Omega, and Tex survived the EMP. That way, we'd still have our original Alpha/Tex (which would ultimately come into conflict with the epsi-equivolent-silon, maybe?) and we'd still have our original antagonist, Omega. I JUST CAN'T ADMIT TO MYSELF THAT THEY'RE GONE FOREVER I CAN'T DO IT ;n;
(It's okay, It's hard not to )

I was definitely inspired by Luke McKay's versions...for a lot of the characters, actually ^^
YES. That was truly the bane of my existence for a while: My church and Wash looked IDENTICAL for a bit there. But now they've each grown their own unique attributes and it's a bit better (although, now Church looks too much like Grif...FML XD; ) I dunno, I guess my original incentive was that since black hair/blue eyes is kindof rare, it would mark him as someone 'worth watching out for'...back when I thought his manipulative/rebellious streak predated Freelancer ^^'
Like how his armor is supposed to suggest danger...akin to a wasp.

HAHA. HA. I see what you did there. Yes, Shannon is the iciest.

I love eyes. Favorite part of the whole body. They can express so much in such a small way You must have a favorite attribute to write about c:

Uhm. Usually it's just whichever way I need the motion to go. If the character has his arm raised, the wrinkles point towards it, showing the motion as upward. If the shit is just hanging, then they sag downwards, suggesting gravity. If it's fabric all bunched together, then they're horizontal to suggest being crowded.
This makes me sound like I know what I'm talking about. Which I don't. XD;

This has inspired/helped me numerous times. ^^

That is true. realHalo?! Do tell! More Noble Six? :>

Nemonus In reply to Jspx [2011-11-05 18:52:08 +0000 UTC]

AHAHA ACTUALLY IT'S NOT THAT BAD. ;_; That would be dark even for me!

I'd like to see Omega come back! He's the classic villain.

Wash's armor is supposed to suggest a wasp? lulz

The thing is, when I look at people (with the exception of Shannon <3) it's never the eyes or the hair color that I pay attention to first. Which is kinda bad for me because it makes it hard to recognize people after meeting them once. But I notice things about their face: usually the shape of the jaw, and the shape of the lips and the space between the mouth and the nose. It's hard to find the right words to describe the varieties of shape those can have.

Nawww, that's really good advice because it's simple. I can understand it! Also, Moni's tutorials are some of my favourites too, so I'll definitely look at that some more. Thanks!

Yeah, this story--> [link] my novel-length Noble Six thing.

Jspx In reply to Nemonus [2011-11-05 22:55:50 +0000 UTC]

OH GOOD. That thought has crossed my mind...but yeah, that'd be way too dark. This is supposed to be a humorous show, after all XD;

I'd like to see how they make Omega the crazy bad-batman-villan evil that he becomes...is that technically rampancy? I dunno, being someone's unbridled rage implies more of a threat to me than Omega actually is...XD

I know, right? Burnie said that somewhere and I freaked. It makes sense though: if you piss him off, he hunts you down...like he did with South...

Hmmm. Okay ^^ Yeah, those do seem hard to describe verbally...

Seriously, Moni's stuff is so good ;A;

Excellent ^^ How much more do you think you're going to add to it? (is that like, an incredibly rude thing to ask a writer? Because if it is I'm sorry you don't have to answer D: )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nemonus In reply to Jspx [2011-11-06 13:53:57 +0000 UTC]

Making a 'serious' version of Omega would present difficulties. They've already tried to present the 'serious' version of Wyoming, and different people tell me that has succeeded or it hasn't. I tried to write prequel!Omega for a RP, and making his over-the-top dramatics serious and scary was about as difficult as making Wyoming's accent serious.

"if you piss him off, he hunts you down..." Eeee. Freaky indeed. That's definitely true.

Ideally Wolves will be twice as long as it is now--the chapter I'm currently working on is a big turning point. However, I've gotten so into RvB that I've slowed down writing it. Argh fandom vagaries!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jspx In reply to Nemonus [2011-11-06 19:27:54 +0000 UTC]

See, I think Omega could be completely rewritten, so long as he eventually makes it to his current state. Have him be as serious and dangerous as he should be, then just have an event (like jumping via the two way radio for the first time) really do some damage to his psyche, and then he could just deteriorate into the over-the-top future self. AI are so easy to do that with because they're so unstable to begin with.
Also, I've noticed I have this slight obsession with stuff/people deteriorating XD;

Wyoming. Muh. I actually hoped that having Gamma would've give him Foreign Accent Syndrome somehow. It actually made a lot of sense. Delta did say something cautionary in Out of Mind along the lines of "remember when program Gamma removed himself from...." We haven't found out what happened, but I had my hopes. BUT NO. HE HAS TO HAVE THAT STUPID ACCENT FROM THE START. Siiigh. XD

Very nice :3 Hahaha! Tell me about it. I look over the stuff I've drawn in the last year and 86% of it is rvb or rvb related. It's like I've forgotten how to do anything else! o.o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nemonus In reply to Jspx [2011-11-06 21:15:49 +0000 UTC]

That would make a lot of sense though! It would be cool if it worked out that way.

Nooo, the accent is apparently natural. But this way we get to imagine poor English Wyoming getting his name and confusedly asking people where Wyoming actually is...

XD Yeah. I don't like leaving things unfinished! I was so passionate about Reach (and can't believe it's been over a year since it came out already). Only being interested in a fandom for a matter of months is weird for me. XD And it means I can have trouble finishing long fics! This happened with Mass Effect too but I'm hoping the third game will give me the incentive to finish at least the last leg of my large ME one.

I'm usually a cyclical, short-term, superobsessed type of fan. Something will be all I think about for a few months, until I get bored or embarrassed with it. Then I'm on to the next thing. After a couple of rotations, I'll be back obsessed with the first thing again. RvB is probably the longest, constantly running fandoms I've ever been a part of. Maybe that's because it's also cyclical between the on/off seasons? Who knows. XD

I still need to get around to playing ME. Really want to, but I never have time anymore

When you're writing a superlong fic, do you try to include the multiple games in the series as they come out?

LOL exactly. I for some reason just have it in my headcanon that CT had to explain it to him and then got angry because she (being from Rhode Island) wasn't entirely sure how to explain it herself.

We'll see what happens. I'm determined to get it done. Of course, I've also got NaNo now, which both means that I'm learning how to push through writing, and that I don't have as much time for fanfic with 1677 words of original fic to do every day.

Man, I didn't even try for Legendary. I'm such a character-centered person, I don't even really have a favourite mission. (Bad fan. But the one where you're sneaking around with Jun is by far my least fave.) I just love the team, and Jorge/Six. My long fic is mostly about them.

Huh, cyclical, eh? That's interesting. The thing with me is that I was into Star Wars and nothing else for like eight years, and then when Mass Effect came around it kicked off this new pattern of getting heavily into a new fandom every six months or so. Case in point: ME, Reach, RvB. But the part of me that's the Star Wars fan is like "why are you losing interest so quickly?!" The season thing might be a plus for RvB though.

It's a great game, and very self-awarely funny at points; I highly recommend it. However, it is long and immersive, so does take up time. You can start at ME2 if you like wiki the previous one or something: I'd played only half the first one before I got into ME2.

Not really...because my fics tend to be very much focused on one or two characters. In the case of 'Wolves' it's all about Six and Jorge post-Reach, so the other games will be mentioned but not really involved. Also that's different because it's a prequel. I have a ME3-era story that will have to be either retconned or declared AU when the game comes out. Declaring things AU is useful. But I haven't written enough long fics for new games to have been an issue enough that I notice a pattern of having to deal with them. In Star Wars there's new material all the time and it's sometimes a hassle, sometimes a blessing to keep up with all of it.

Hahahaha wait- why would being from Rhode Island mean she doesn't know how to dance? I thought it was just because she was a total tomboy 96% of the time...

Ohman. I've heard of NaNo. It sounds hard. Good luck?! Have do ever done it before?

FFFFFFF That sneaking/sniper mission was my favorite! You're weird <3
Okay, what's your favorite cutscene/character building moment, then?

Hmmm. Apperently youtube is a good place to watch walkthroughs of games. Might have to see if they have a ME one... I can take laziness to the next level. I don't even have to play the game XD;

Hahaha, AU, the ultimate scapegoat for theories disproven!

Haha, that first bit was in reply to the thing about Wyoming not knowing where Wyoming is, actually. ^^' CT doesn't know either because she's from Rhode Island. ^^' Sorry that was confusing!

NaNo is...grueling. I did it last year though!

Dude it was so hard and there was all the sniping and sneaking and Jun is boring-- <3
I like the long cutscene where you see both Six and Jorge talking, and then Halsey is introduced. I read about Halsey in the novels, and it was cool to see her on-screen for the first time.

OHGOODNESS I CANNOT EVEN COMPLETE A NORMAL REPLY WITHOUT EPISODE 19 GETTING IN THE WAY. Who knows what might have to become AU now. My heart, it is shaken. You've seen 19, right?!
