Coming ashore on a tiny island in the south Pacific a group of explorers discover ancient ruins of what could only be Muan and at the center of the island was a great tower cover over by the jungle. This was the home of the second greatest weapon of the ancient world, the Devil's whistle, a weapon that had the potential to eradicate all life on Earth, but the ancients feared it so much they abandoned it and left their guarddog Jiger to make sure no one ever use it.
Well sure enough Jiger appeared and cut the men off from the beach and would have killed them had gamera, also attuned that the Devil's whistle never be used, intervened and fought the aged Pelycosaur, who proved a vicious fighter for her age. During the battle the Devil's whistle was destroyed, and Jiger calmed to a placid beast and waddled into the jungle, but one day she'd be needed to defend the world again.
