It's all fun and easy. color, second color, blend, color *bang* It's a photo of a tree!

Always somewhere between the steps it jumps from just adding paint to the perfect realistic thing ^^

Rocks and trees hate me. They formed a mafia against me with water and clouds and are all like, HAHAHA YOU CANT DRAW US!

Hopefully this will help me defeat said mafia....

great tips, it'll help when im attempting backgrounds @_@ i am so not skilled at those..yet! i always lack the ability to tell when to keep goign further with details. Looking at the progressions you did i realize that I usually stop at about the third image when colouring (for example your rocks) and think to myself "well, thats a damned good rock!" and not realize i can push it further @_@. How do you know when to continue or when it's good enough?
