So I was browsing other people's favorites today as I often do, and came across a tutorial on applying texture to an image. Well honestly, it was complicated even for me. And if I'm like wtf then so must be a lot of other people lol.

So I dug up this dragon (since I had a few minutes to ninja the computer) and put this together. It's probably full of flaws and definitely not perfect, but I really hope it's simple enough for anyone to be able to follow.

Adding something as simple as texture doesn't have to be a book. It should be easy enough to remember after the first time through, and I really hope that for those of you reading up on how to do this you find my tutorial helpful!

Please don't be shy to ask me questions on this, or let me know if anything is confusing at all. I intentionally didn't go into a lot of detail - just the very basics on how to get the texture on there.

Additional Notes
- I used Photoshop CS2 for this.
- It's best you have at least a basic knowledge of photoshop and where everything is before attempting a technique like this.
- As you learn to apply textures you'll find that using just one texture over the entire image may not result in the total effect you're looking for. Often times many textures are combined over different parts of the image to produce the desired affect. For example you might not want a hard texture over a soft skin area, or the eyes, so you would erase those parts.
- You can also change the color of the texture and use different modes (where you find "overlay" in the drop down menu) to get different effects
