Description This is the lineart tutorial I've been promising for a while now.

This tutorial uses Photoshop
I'm not farmiliar with other software so I don't know if this is compatible with other programs, neither can I answer questions on software other than photoshop.

I hope this all makes sense to read and apply to your own work if you so wish

This is the finished example from this tutorial

Hey, it works on gimp too, are you supposed to be able to color outside the lines?

I drew an eye and i'm going to color it and it is hopefully going to look cool!

I would have never thought of this, but gimp has the multipy setting so I'll see if it works there.

Crycrycry, why won't this work? I think I'm doing everything as you say with my Photoshop Elements, but still no. The color just goes everywhere, not behind the lineart. Do you know why?

I've always hated doing the lineart, though my only problem is that I can never get the lines to look clean.. >.>

heylorlass In reply to meg140140 [2012-01-09 12:01:39 +0000 UTC]

Use as sharp a pencil as possible
Draw light strokes when you're laying down your initial sketches so they can be rubbed out easily when you put down harder lines afterwards

I'm not sure, I've never seen photoshop elements to know
The multiply thing is a filter that you can put over a layer

I tried this tutorial and it worked up until the part where i was about to add color, at this point it would let me change out grays whites and blacks for my color, any advice?
