Description
PLEASE NOTE: I will NOT answer questions asking me what stores/online stores to buy art supplies from. As I've stated hundereds of times over, I live in New Zealand. NOT America, England, what-ever-land ect - and thus I'd have no clue. My art supplies I either buy in New Zealand, Hong Kong when I visit, or my friends overseas send them to me.Besides, there's a program called google if you want to find an online art store. Because I don't buy stuff online, I wouldn't have a clue where you could look. sorry.
Anyhow, message aside, I'm taking a page out of the books and making one of these like *Marit and *Wennichelle but darn...I use so much different stuff, I had to make this tutorial in two-parts. The one with markers and pencils will come sometime in the future (but may be a long time yet with the stuff I've got to do).
Hope this helps a little, in any case.

WHOAH I didn't know that other people used Canson sketchbooks and Faber Castell! :'D Though I generally use Sharpie Pens for inking, since I make my lines WAY THICK. Not on purpose, of course. XD

Thanks for this, I've been looking for a good paper which can hold markers. All of my papers can't, they bleed so horribly ;_;

We stock WHSmith as a brand at Whitcoulls - I can look it up on the system to see if we stock the WHS sketch paper or if it can be ordered in for you - if my branch can do it then so can the one closest to you. If you'd be interested, that is. n_n

Nice...the saying is true, "an artist is only as good as his tools." I use Rose Art colored pencils because they're all I have, but now I see it's time to hit the craft store C:

Wow!
I'm a big fan of your art! You are just so good at colouring in the pictures! So smooth, so clear! I wish I can draw that good!
Oh by the way, I use a normal black ink pen (refillable, with ink in bottle) XD, I dunno whether I will work as good as you pens - though I still love it :3 (I've already used it for more than 6 years!)!

Yeah, you can get them in both HK and New Zealand. Funnily enough, I go to Hk a fair bit (usually during christmas) as my parents live over there. X3

I can't believe we share much common material here like inking pens, copic sketch marker and your pencil. They're identical except from my mechanic pencil is orange which is also beautiful >w<
Ahhh, although we use same stuff but the art is like millions of levels apart TTwTT

Nice! I'll hafta keep those in mind...
Yeah, Reeves is incredibly cheap. My mom bought me Reeve's Water Color pencils and I was a lil shakey at first, but they turned out to actually be better then my Prismas.
You told me once that one of your marker brands stayed wet longer then others, and so it was easier to blend with. Which was that again?
I'll hafta google some of this stuff later when I get some money. xD

You should do a tutorial on how tp use these media's, that would be awsome.
BTW good tutorial. It's nice to find someone who lives in NZ and uses media that I can get my greedy hands on.

KeyshaKitty In reply to Jubbified [2007-01-24 08:31:21 +0000 UTC]
Nah. The best way for people to learn is to experiment with the media themselves and find out how to use it in a way that works with theis style - not to copy my ways and make everything look exactly the same and stale. That's why I don't like making tutorials.

I have/use a Canson Sketch book too, and goodness, do I love it! <3 And I like printer paper, of course. I have two Micron pens, but I use a regular 0.7 line Sharpie for thick outlines.
I wanna use a Mitubishi Uni pen sometime. But I dunno if they're sold anywhere in the US...
Haha, how weird to rant over sketching media... XD

i should probably look at getting some of the copic multiliners... my sakuras are all dead and my staedtler's aren't doing it for me anymore. :/ but oh! i love the hybrid gel pen. xD that thing rocks. sakura makes a good gel pen too.
this is definately super informative. : D looking forward to the next one! ^^
