Fluttershy To The Rescue:
While playing a one-player game with Pinkie and Fluttershy together, use the second controller to control Fluttershy. Use Fluttershy to airlift Pinkie out of danger or to areas which are unreachable by Pinkie alone."
Make Fluttershy Fly or Swim:
Quickly press the A, B or C button twice, while playing as Fluttershy, and she'll fly or swim (for a limited time) if it is necessary.
(Except for the boss fight in the Marble Garden Zone. She flies pretty much forever.)
