Description
Another tutorial in my ongoing review of my anatomy notes. The same as before, the info is compiled from Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist by Stephen Rogers Peck as well as notes from Aaron Board's (www.aaronboard.com ) Figure Anatomy class at Ringling.Related content

I've seen a lot of poorly drawn abs on this site; so I hope it helps some artists avoid that in the future.

Is there an easy way to get the colored picture with the muscles.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KrisCynical In reply to LadyKylin [2011-07-05 03:16:40 +0000 UTC]
The image with the muscles was scanned out of the book I listed in the tutorial. The book is on all black and white, though... I added in the color myself back when I was taking my figure anatomy class in college in order to help me study for tests and quizzes.

Congrats on the DD. This is very detailed and most helpful thank you! You have quite the wit too lost of giggling from me on you descriptions. What you said about the abs made me laugh. The Pectorals was the most helpful to me.

Thank you for also drawing the female torso. Boobs are troublesome. And I did not know about the serratus anterior. Thank you!

Great tutorial. Nothing scarier than a male torso with damn xylophone where his ab muscles are supposed to be (my own art included ).

What you have labeled as ASIS in the picture of the pelvis, is actually the iliac crest; anterior superior iliac spine is its anterior extremity ;]

Great tutorial - I don't know why the male body seems like such a struggle to draw properly! (Perhaps I just need to stare at them more. Darn. ) The specific things you pointed out here will help a lot, I think. Thank you!

Awesome. Although I have to disagree due to personal preferences; chiseled abs are hot as hell. But this was very helpful, I actually learned a lot
