Description
A ref for the evil little mer, aka Elneri's father! Story-wise he will only make a brief appearance in Lost In A Lost World, just to be quickly offed like the trash he is >:3 Nevertheless, he still gets a ref just because I have lotsa fun drawing him XD
Listen to Gils' voice claim
(Christoph Waltz)
Here's also a copy-paste of his backstory from the family ref to have all the info about him in one place:
Gils Oril, half Breton and half Dunmer, was born as Gilles Belland in Northpoint from a merchant family. Cruel and heartless but at the same time a clever manipulator, as a young man he got himself entangled in the worship of Molag Bal.
He found his fortune when he transferred to Wayrest; Barenziah had just married King Eadwyre, and brought part of her entourage with her. With his manipulative charm, and maybe some influence from the Daedric Prince, Gils managed to seduce and marry a Dunmeri noblewoman, gaining admission to House Hlaalu.
Shortly after, the woman died in a totally accidental horse riding incident. With a rich fortune at his disposal and a new position to exploit, Gils changed his name to a more Dunmeri-sounding spelling, adopted his mother’s family name and went to live in Vivec. There he quickly rose among the ranks of House Hlaalu up to House Father.
He held a facade of an open-minded philanthropist, donated to the Temple and even supported the liberation of slaves, while he actually kept his old ways and worsened them up to a notch: he dabbled in skooma trading, sacrificed people to his Daedric patron with an alarming frequent rate and it is said that he had even came up with a human, beastfolk and mer trafficking with the Sloads.
Despite his dealings, he quickly exhausted his money and therefore set his eyes on a rich widow from House Telvanni, Daynali Dren. He didn’t have the time to put his scheme in motion when a Hlaalu councilwoman, Velanda Omani, feeling threatened by Gils’ rapid ascension, exposed his Daedric worship to the Temple.
Hunted by the Ordinators, Gils fled to Cyrodiil and remained there until 3E 427, when Molag Bal himself ordered him to return to Vvardenfell, for he had plans there to pursue. He killed Menta Na and acquired the Mace, becoming Molag Bal’s Champion. He moved from one Daedric ruin to another, fulfilling nefarious requests from the Prince until he was felled by the Nerevarine and her companion in Tusenend, in 21st of Evening Star 3E 427, aged 76.
Gils belong to Bethesda but all the story details are my headcanon.
