Description
This guy can bounce about like an Eskimo ninja! It took a couple of tries to corral him, but my kid catch skills are still sharp! This jumping spider can fit comfortably on the eraser of a pencil and his red Raphael Ninja Turtle bandana is hardly noticeable to the bare eye. I suppose it helps distract from its misshapen Linus shaped head...Β©Copyright Kyle Wright. You may NOT use, replicate, manipulate, or modify this image without my permission. All Rights Reserved.

Has your state had a drought so far this summer? It's been a pretty brutal summer for us. Up until this past week, we hadn't received any rain and the heat has been in the hundreds almost all summer. Which brings me to my next point...the spider population seems to have exploded. I keep finding brown recluses in my house and in my office, and the black widow spiders are all around the outside of my house! I was shooting a wedding reception back in June and opened my camera bag to find a brown recluse walking around my gear. Really made my skin crawl, especially when he moved to the bottom of the bag and I couldn't find it anywhere...

Flooding, actually. Omaha is right on the Missouri River which is WAY over its banks this year. So while crops in Kansas have died due to drought, ours have been drowning.
I've actually got a friend in Kansas who has reported the same thing... tons of brown recluses in the house.
