This was created back in 2003 for Southwestern Oklahoma State University and has been in use by the university ever since. I had a crack to submit something to the university for consideration at the time, and developed this logo from start to finish in 3 days. It started with sketching multiple original bulldogs on paper, narrowing the field down to the 3 best, and then creating the 3 different bulldogs in Illustrator before this particular one was selected by the committee. Since then, it has been used in advertising, products, student ID's, sports equipment, basketball courts, football field turf, basis for the official mascot suit, etc. etc. etc. It was truly a blessing to create something that literally is exposed to thousands upon hundreds of thousands of people.The rights to this logo are under ownership and trademark of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

I love the bulldog and the font - did you draw that too? It can be hard to do an original logo of something that has been done so much (since it's a common school mascot) but you did a great job!

The font was custom made as well. You're right, it can sometimes feel like recreating the wheel. Technically, the logo is not as clean and precise as I would do things now...but I guess that is where the benefit of time and experience come into play. It bugs me today when I use the logo and see all the imperfections.

Nice font. I feel the same way about my older stuff even from a few months ago. Always learning, but that's good!
