*Narrowly dodges all rotten tomatoes and "sacrilige" signs thrown at him with extreme acrobatic maneuvers*

OK, OK, I know I am enacting a heinous crime right now, but I dun care one bit. I grew up with both Digimon and Pokemon, and I damn love them equally. Let people enjoy things, jeez! XD

Erhm, with that out of the way, let's talk about Digimon Tri.

Never in my life would I think that I would get to relive my childhood's nostalgia in such an impactful way. Tri is a literal blessing for us old digimon wardogs who did not see much appeal to further generations of digimon. I may have escaped the nostalgia cloud with Pokemon and not be a genwunner, but Digimon got it instead with Adventures 01 and 02. What can I say, I have a soft spot for those 8 nerds and their digital babies. x)

Appropriately enough, we start off with our good ol' leader boi extraordinaire, and original proprietor of all the world's useless googles, Tai. I always saw him as a conflicting force...conflicting within himself, that is. You would expect a leader to be a bit more decisive of what the hell should be done next, but I guess Tai broke THAT mold too. XD

Joking aside, his character has been one on the middle side for me. He sure had his moments, but as is a leader's curse, they are mostly interesting during the starts and ends of a journey. That is to say, though, he DID make a lot of progress in-between, enough to warrant him his leadership.

Onto the sprite collage itself, with all that surge of emotions I got from Tri, I got enough inspiration to forge through with this idea, which was previously only a passing silly idea I was joking with on our skype chats. A big part of this collage's point is to get the most appropriate Pokemon evolutionary line for each Digidestined, and for the most part, the choices were a dead giveaway. Tai would naturally go with Charmander, of course, and the entire evolutionary line fits him like a glove. I had a lot of fun starting out this series with Tai. He may not be one of my top favourites of the crew, but Agumon sure has a soft spot in my heart, that glutton rascal. x3

(Of course, just pasting those awesome trainer sprites by with the pokemon sprites would be kinda boring. And then I remembered the Digimon World DS games and their digimon sprites and the inspiration grew further.

Then, oh happy day callooh callay, I also came across some amazing battle cuts by . The idea was sealed by now, it just needed some refining. And after a bit more searching, as if the pokemon fate would have it, I found out these sweet badge-styled crests by . Many thanks to all those guys for their amazing work. )

That being said, I think I rambled long enough on this first piece. After all, I got 7 more to cover and it's not nice to hoggle all my thoughts on one picture. Stay tuned for the next one, folks. Things are about to get moody...Literally. XD
