Description So, fun fact, this is now currently my 665th deviation on my page, meaning whatever I submit will be my 666th deviation... You know I gotta take advantage of that, there's no way I can pass it up (I mean, technically I've hit my 666th deviation before, but that was before I decluttered my gallery). Another interesting thing, this is actually the seventh installment of the Creature comps so far, not the sixth. It was technically going to be the eighth, as I had another sketched out and ready to ink, but I ended up putting that one on hold and making this one. As to why this is still the seventh, the reason is because while I was working on the sixth one I stupidly thought "Hey, you know what'd be cool? Adding a badass drawing of the True Destroyer of Worlds to this! I'll just do the first several segments and keep it small, what could possibly go wrong? Right? Right?!

...Yeah... This is how far I got on it before I needed to take a break... You can probably guess the reason why :/ Sucks too, because I'm really excited about the other creatures on it. Hopefully I can get it one soon though (although the editing process is going to suck).

On a different note, I decided to start combining labels on the creatures that fit more than one category rather than add the other category as a footnote in the description. Granted most are part Lucid, but maybe later on there will be more combinations. I just figured it'd be easier that way. Creatures that are part of Lucid and something else were spawned via dreams I've had.

Creatures are numbered and labeled with a letter designating which project they are from.
F = Fakemon, P = Pterraforming, L = Lucid, R = Requests or fan art (Mostly fan art, F was already taken)

1: [Pterraforming] A sparrow bushclaw, the tiniest member of the Australian Tyrranoraptorids. No bigger than a house sparrow, these tiny raptors spend most of their life darting to and fro in the bushes and trees of the australian wilderness. While their wings are more developed than some of their non avian cousins, they still can't fly very far, mostly limited to short bursts of flight. Still, they are no less active because of it, spending most of their time flitting between branches and bushes looking for food. Despite their small size, sparrow bushclaws are fearsome predators, often chasing down and killing prey as large as themselves. Sparrow bushclaws usually travel in small, loose flocks, where they can either work together to take down prey or work alone to hunt for themselves. Together they also are able to more effectively spot danger, letting out a loud alarm cry to warn the others or danger before clampering to higher ground.

2: [Lucid] The lopsided finfish, a strange cave fish that appeared in a recent dream of mine. While many creatures I dream end up being added to the Pterraforming Project, I decided not to include this as a part of it due to it being just a little bit too extreme. In the dream, a small school appeared in an old, abandoned, underground garage/workshop type thing that had flooded with water. Me and a group of people had fallen into it after the area of the field (which was also flooded and full of tadpoles) we were standing in collapsed into said structure. The fish seemed to hunt by spinning, using their big fin to cause a torrent that disoriented prey. They then would use the big fin to scoop the prey into their large, toothy jaws. Because they were a cave dwelling species, they lacked any pigment in their skin, although they retained eyes.

3: [Pterraforming] The boreal batbird, a North American "eared" batbird that nests in the taiga forests. Batbirds are interesting creatures that are neither birds nor bats, thought to be closely related to the extinct Scansoriopterygids. Because bats do not exist on Pterearth, batbirds are able to rule the night skies, avoiding competition with most of the many other winged tetrapods in the process. While it may appear that "eared" batbirds have extra fingers, they actually possess three elongated bony rods in the wing to help support the patagium. Their "ears" are also not what they appear, being comprised of a bony crest structure rather than cartilage like in the pinnae of mammals. Boreal batbirds are mostly insectivores, catching food on the wing with the help of their highly developed sense of hearing and sharp eyesight. During the winter, rather than hibernate like bats, boreal batbirds will migrate to warmer climates during the cold periods, often flocking together in the dead of night and using the stars to help them navigate.

4: [Lucid + Pterraforming] The fairy marshbiter, a tiny but fearsome true bug found in marshes and vernal pools. A type of assassin bug, marshbiters feed predominantly on the larva of other insects, piercing them with their powerful mouthparts and dissolving their insides with a potent venom. Interestingly they prefer the aquatic larva of mosquitoes, resing on or near the water's surface waiting patiently for the larva to float towards them. They then quickly jab their mouthparts underwater and into the soft bodies of the larva. Unusual for most members of reduviidae, fairy marshbiters possess wings that are quite large in proportion to their bodies, with both pairs of wings being identical in size and shape. They are also quite delicate, more resembling the wings of moths or lacewings than that of their cousins. Despite their dainty size and delicate looks, one should avoid trying to touch or grab one, as the marshbiter can give an incredibly painful bite, which is said to be worse than a wasp sting.

5: [Request] This is actually an interesting case, as it isn't one creature, but two that I combined. This is a combo between Rexander134 's Grootslang design and another design of a elephant-triceratops hybrid also by him (which I don't think is currently uploaded). It could still possibly just be his Grootslang, just with some added triceratops traits. You can read more about the Grootslang here .

6: [Lucid(?)] So, this is an interesting one. Behold Muterano, a monsterous version of the character Pterano from the Land Before Time series. The idea for Muterano didn't spawn from a single dream like some of the other creatures in Lucid, but instead came about over many dreams over a large span of time. Doubtless this was due to the fact that Pterano was always my favorite character growing up, and even after I stopped watching the show still followed me into adulthood. Essentially Muterano is the result of Pterano finding actual powers though other means than the comet from the movie, most notably dark magic. Over time as his powers grew, he began to become more monstrous in appearance, eventually becoming what you see here. I put a question mark in place of the associated letter due to the issue of legality, and the additional headache that comes with it. I'm not really sure what to do, considering how integral Muterano has become in the dreamverse, but considering Lucid is so early in the concept stages I guess it doesn't really matter that much for the time being. If Muterano were to be a part of Lucid, he'd be a Tier 3 boss, although he might make appearances in the first two tiers in a less dragony form as a non hostile entity.

7: [Request] HewyToonmore 's Krampus design, based on a nightmare he had in the past of an eyeless, jawless monster with enormous horns and a long, lashing tongue. This one was actually kind of frustrating, as I had to alter it numerous times after I had already scanned it in. Originally I gave it a much longer tail, a shorter neck (that was actually a mistake, I meant to make it longer but accidentally didn't give it enough room), and a much longer, lashing tongue (the tongue thing made me the most sad, because I though the idea of it having a tongue that could extend and retract would be really badass... Guess I'll leave the sliding, extending tongue idea for Equusin and Fellolclad  :/). Anyways, you can read more about Hewy's Krampus here . You can also see the unedited Krampus sketch here .

8: [Lucid] The Cursed Rabbiclock, a fear object that can be encountered in tier 1 of Lucid. An unusual entity, the rabbiclock appears as a small, blue cartoonish rabbit with an analog alarm clock imbedded in the center. Unlike monsters, fear objects don't actively attack the player, rather remaining stationary and causing indirect effects such as raising fear and lowering the light levels. The Cursed Rabbiclock is usually heard before it is seen, with teeth that move in a chattering motion and giving off a loud noise. The eyes also constantly move, swinging from side to side in unison. If the player come across a rabbiclock and looks directly at it for too long, they can become paralyzed, their fear meter spiking and raising the possibility of monsters spawning or even waking. As with all clocks in the game, the time that appears is nonsense, and changes every time the player blinks or looks away.

9: [Lucid + Pterraforming] Another dream spawned bird, this time a strange eagle native to an extremely hostile island in the Pacific. Called the palmnut eagle, it's an usual case of the extremes animals can take in isolated environments. It's large bill is actually built to crack as well as tear, and it uses it to supplement its diet with a type of toxic palm nut common to the island. The island these birds inhabit consists of high, steep cliffs with mats of short plants clinging tightly to the walls, which are adapted to resist the high winds and crashing waves that constantly pound against them. Palmnut eagles, being strong fliers, take advantage of these winds to hunt, often ambushing birds in the air so they loose their balance and get hurtled towards the rock face to their deaths. Here, an adult has successfully killed a black palm-parrot, which normally are toxic to predators due to a build up of the toxic compound found in the palmnuts they eat. However, due to the eagles own diets, they can be safely consume the birds without ill effect.

10: [Lucid + Pterraforming] A slain black palm-parrot, another species of bird that inhabits the steep crags of their inhospitable island. Also able to tackle the toxic palm nuts that are common on the island crags, the parrots create a natural bio-defense by accumulating the poison within the nuts into their own flesh. Due to the high winds that surround the island, black palm-parrots prefer to get about by climbing along the vegetation on the cliff walls, although they do retain the ability to fly. Many of the island plants are covered in thorns and sharp leaves, so palm-parrots have extra tough skin on their feet and faces to protect themselves from this. While palm-parrots have little to fear from most predators, who naturally avoid them, palmnut eagles will readily hunt the large parrots, attempting to ambush them along the cliff walls. When attacked, palm-parrots will press their backs against a rock face, using their beaks and talons to defend themselves. If push comes to shove, they will take to the air, keeping close to the rock face to try and avoid being blown to their doom.

11: [Lucid + Pterraforming] The flightless alpine fishfly, a wingless fishfly found in high creeks of the rocky mountains. A member of the subfamily Chauliodinae, these insects  are notable for their distinct lack of wings, thought to be a result of the high elevations and general lack of need to fly long distances to search for breeding grounds. As larva they live like most other members of their families, hunting in the coldwater creeks that come from the melting snowcaps in the spring. They live for up to three years as a larva. Once ready to pupate, they crawl out of these creeks and search for a crevice or rock in which to hide. As adults, both male and females will congregate along the rocks and banks of the creeks they were born, gathering in small groups to search for a mate. The patterns on their bodies help them blend into their surroundings, helping them avoid detection since they cannot fly to escape predators. After mating, the females will lay her eggs on overhanging plants along the creek bed, which upon hatching the larva will drop into the water. Adults typically live up to a week.

Well, normally I don't take requests or commissions, but if it's something I might be interested in I might be able to work it in. When it will be drawn and when it will be uploaded are other matters entirely, however
