Astoundigly inked! I'm utterly mesmerized by the central piece, the carefully plaed and detailed skin lining is excellent!

Thanks man. I didn't know it was on Comixology... no royalties from McFarlane.

yeah it's there. The entire series I believe. Well royalties or not, your illustration work on it is stellar.

Never would have pegged McFarlane as an idiot! But who pushes you off that book!? I dropped it about 2 issues after you left.
Didnt the whole thing kinda go in a new direction?

Yup. It sucked. It was Christmas and my wife had just given birth, and I was out of a job. For pretty much a year as it turned out. Dark days!

Awesome stuff mate. I may have to read it with text but the look across the monster's face in panel does give it a human like sense of surprise. And the use of detail is always top notch and balanced as well.
Do tell though; was this digital at the time or what kind of pens and inks were you using? As a stationery geek I am curious.

LiamRSharp In reply to MrTuke [2014-07-14 18:35:11 +0000 UTC]
Cheers Tom! And that's a mask Lord Covenant wears to hide his terrible scars...
It was just sharpies and fine-liner pens. I'll use whatever I can lay my hands on. Strangely I've never been much fussed what I use to draw with. I'll try anything!
π: 0 β©: 1
MrTuke In reply to LiamRSharp [2014-07-22 19:20:57 +0000 UTC]
Really? If that's just a mask, one dreads to see what his face looks like.
Interesting on the mediums. I know Sharpies are popular, but I've found that they run out like chocolates. Fineliners are always good too, though again I worry too much sometimes about them running out too quickly.
I commonly hear Biros and felt tips are scorned a bit in the industry. I don't use them apart from sketches, but any other reason you'd like to add? (apart from biros smudging and sometimes reflecting light off the scanner and felt tips allegedly fading).
That said I do use felt tips to bleed into my watercolour paintings though.

My weapon of choice is the Pentel pocket brush pen - it's a brush that has cartridges, so you don't have to dip it. I've been using them for 20 years at least.

MrTuke In reply to LiamRSharp [2014-07-23 11:46:24 +0000 UTC]
Ay. That's one of the firm weapons of conquest that I keep at my side these days. Admittedly I've also invested in larger pencil case with a small compartment for replacement pens of the main tools, so that I'm never unarmed in battle. (unless some bastard pinches it). Β
