I have attempted with this technique and it shows no results of success. Neither on Ponyscape or Inkscape work when I clip it. I don't know how this technique is possible, but for me is impossible.

How do you get a stroke that's tapered bat both ends in Inkscape?

This looks rather complicated to accomplish this. Usually you'd only need a single clip for the mitter feater lines, which you can do with a simple 4-point path manually, and this takes much less time

The Boolean intersection command would work as well, yeah?

That may seem to work but then you've just destroyed all the stroke data

True, but the stroke data tends to get in my way after it's been clipped. Especially when using the edit node tool. It's so annoying, and I'm willing to sacrifice the convenience of stroke data for the convenience of things not getting in the way.

Move it to a different [sub]layer and then lock it
Then it will never get in the way

How can you do sub-layers in Inkscape?

Add New Layer -> As Sublayer of Current
You must have a layer already selected to add as a sublayer, however.

Think of it as deleting a clone
It was never meant to exist

Oh, I thought you were saying something like, "I'd never clip wings! That's brutal and inhumane!"
I suppose it's not exactly a given to know how to do this but once you do, you should keep it handy under your tool belt.

It is indeed, and I wish we didn't have to, but that seems to be the way we have to do it.

All those quality requirements imposed by the MLP-VectorClub. To be honest I don't want all those limitations.

Don't submit it to MLP-VectorClub, then, if the limitations seriously hinder you.
