Description
This, believe it or not, is a Dalek.A 'Hayakawa' Dalek, to be precise, as drawn by Michiaki Sato for the Japanese translations of the Target novelisations of 'The Daleks' and 'Day of the Daleks', produced by Hayakawa Books. Sato, it seems, worked purely from the descriptions in those books and...well, it shows. Everything described is there, just not in the way it is on screen. The result is a very interesting design that, while perhaps not as threatening as an 'actual' Dalek, has a charm all of its own.
This is my reinterpretation of Sato's design, and the start of a sub-series within the Dalek Evolution project - Project Infinity. This is my excuse to lever in all the 'alternate' Daleks that don't fit with the regular time line - the Movie Daleks, the spider Daleks from 'Fire and Brimstone', etc.
So far, I plan to include the following:
The Hayakawa Daleks
The Aaru movie Daleks
The Mentor Daleks from 'Dalek Empire'
The Leakey spider Daleks from 'Fire and Brimstone'
The Nelvana Daleks from the proposed 'Animated Series'
The Turner Daleks from 'The Dalek Chronicles'
Likely, I'll stop there, since that's already a folder full and I want to limit myself to semi-official variants.
However, if anyone spots a glaring omission on the list, please let me know (though the Dark Dimension SWD and the deformed Ultimate Adventure Daleks are both out - the DDSWD because it's been done perfectly by Mechmaster and the UA Daleks because they are deformed and ugly).

in journeys end there are daleks that speak german, they say "exterminieren" even though exterminate in german is "vertigen". so these daleks would probably say "Exterminaturu" or something like that δΊ‘γΌγ

I really like the sucker design on these things.
What about Cusick's own Dalek redesign from the 1980s that even managed to make it as far as appearing in the "Dalek Attack" game?

Yeah, it's a fun little mechanism, that sucker. Very nice variant that makes a lot of sense, adding functionality but keeping the sucker idea.
Not sure about Cusick's redesign...I've never really liked it...but I might give it a go, especially with the Dalek Attack connection (ooo...which is actually a source of variants I hadn't considered...)

my first thought when I saw this in the thumb nail. 'Oh god is that what I think it is.' My second thought when I see the full thing. 'It is what I thought it was but better than expected.'

This is SO frickin' cool!
Weird, radical and abstract, I love it!
I bet if the Doctor saw these, he'll probably scratching his head and giving the biggest WTF look ever.
You've truly outdone yourself mate! Kudos!

Thank you! They are rather strange looking! I think if you really wanted to show the Daleks' timeline getting messed up, this would be the random alternate design to use!

-meant to add, I LOVE the "sucker fingers" hand look - it fits PERFECTLY. I'd bulk up the gun a bit more and raise both appendages to get rid of the "dragging knuckles ape" look... but I understand this is probably homage more than redesign.
Still a damned good pic!

Yeah, I wanted to stick close to the original with the gun - it just adds to the oddity of the outline compared to the normal Dalek, with that long cannon and the low-mounted appendages. And I think you're right about it looking intimidating if you bulked it up a bit - the eye, as I was saying to another poster, is rather unnerving, being an actual eye rather than a lens. It's the one time I've seen a Dalek eye with a pupil actually work.

-I would go so far as to say... if this thing was augmented to be a bit more sort of threatening (this could be a height thing) and had maybe a more heavy duty base and apendages... this could actually be a damned scary dalek variant, not comical at all. Maybe if a little more "shawcraft" sillouette was thrown into the mix...

It has the advantage of not needing to accommodate a man scooting about on a tricycle to animate the prop.

This is true!
(Not that they ever gave them tricycles, which might be considered slightly stingy, if practical...)
