Cult of Skaro: Time War eraAs the Time War raged on, the Daleks were forced to go against millennia of conditioning in order to match the Time Lords' labyrinthine temporal strategies. The Cult of Skaro represented an unprecedented step in their attempts to understand their enemy: four Daleks permitted to exist beyond the reach of the Pathweb and to actively pursue non-Dalek lines of thought. From their imaginations came weapons of untold destructive power and the most insidious means of preserving the Dalek species.

Black Daleks look awesome. they look so sinister. but they should have been something creepy like a Dalek equivalent of the Vrill society - an esoteric research centre.

In Asylum of the Daleks and The Magician's Apprentice there's a black Dalek casing similar to Dalek Sec. This could either be a massive continuity error, or the Dalek Paradigm simply reintroduced the Black Dalek rank at some point.

Not too much at all, I just don't currently have the time to render all the scenes I want. Suffice to say, however, that in the long term I do plan on doing a lot more with these models.
