I'm thinking the chicken wire on the chest isn't working. A clear panel is probably a better way to go, with a few gubbins inside. The circle on the chest is a fan vent, which seems to be the way they took it with the revisited Mondasian Cybermen. The arms and legs will be armoured, with a flexible trunk and shoulders. Definitely going the wetsuit rather than boilersuit look here.Cyberleader . . . hmm . . . The Controller is going to be fun though.
I think I'll do the legs next so I can better gauge proportion and because I'm not sure about the arm armour. Might need a rethink of my original approach.
Cybermen = not mine etc etc.

Different cyberman castes immediately recognizable by the silhouetted shapes of their surgically implanted headgear. Something like a cybershade or this design ?

The Controller is going to be fun though.Have you considered giving the Cyberleader a black chestplate as well as handlebars? Well, not the entire chestplate, the inner workings and grill would still be chrome, but the trim detailing world be black.
Also, will the Controller have sockets for tubing connecting it to a throne, Age Of Steel-style or just be a copy of the identical cyberman model with a different head?

Oh, interesting thought. I've always had a soft-spot for the Cyberleaders of the 70s comics with their big 1 symbols. Might be fun to riff on that . . .
Not sure about the Controller. Honestly, I think I might have to have a stab at the original conception of the Cyberplanner, with the bulbous head and vestigial body. I've always imagined it rather like the Meekon. Definitely favour the wired-in look.

As far as I can tell, cyberman castes are as follows:
Cyberman - the default cybermen
Cyberleader - a default cyberman but with black handlebars
Cybercontroller - a domed and/or transparent cranium with the organic brain partially visible beneath it
Cyberplanner - an immobile cyberman physically wired into their surrounding equipment and repurposed entirely for thinking with barely any humanoid characteristics left

well done on the cybermodel librarian, personally speaking, my fav cybermen were either the Tenant era Cybermen, the new who variant and the old style 5th doctor earthshock and silver nemesis chrome style Cybermen. However, this one is very interesting taking pages from some of the older designs but also adding in some new stuff as well. Overall well done and very curious how this model will be further "upgraded".

Do you have any plans for doing various cyberman equipment? I'd be curious to see what your redesigns of the cybermats, cyberguns and cyberships would be like.

Almost certainly the mats and guns. For ships, I'm very partial to the Invasion designs so I'm unlikely to do anything more than whip one of those up if I ever give it a go, but that's not going to be on the cards for a while yet.
