You did great on this and it's great to finally see the en product of all your hard work! You went trough all the things I think is essential for beginning with colouring pencils, and made sure that the information got stuck I like the neatness of the tutorial :3 the picture when only half the nightsky is coloured made me laugh a bit since it looked like the darkness was really looming over the picture I learned some while reading this so thank you! I'm so very intimidated by colouring pencils but I sure will try my way now

Lienwyn In reply to Kladdpapper [2010-12-24 13:31:39 +0000 UTC]

It feels great to be done! I just... have to really wrap my head around the fact that I AM done x'D I can't seem to really grasp that...
And yeah, since it's me I had to keep it neat and pretty

The darkness will eat you! Oh yeah!
And you go for it! Coloured pencils are awesome ^_^

I just read them all and all I can say is... wow. Just wow. No wonder this have taken you so compleate, it's huge! But just so you know, it was worth it. At least I'm gonna give it a serious try. Or rather several if I'm gonna try out all of that. Because I think it's gonna be a little tricky to incorporate ALL of the things in one single picture. Hmm... would be a neat challenge though, but no. I have to re-learn how to USE my pencils first before trying a stunt like that. Maybe I'll have to get myself some of those fancy Farber-Castell pencils, they're nice. And come in so many different hues! Oh, and those blending stumps... have to get myself a couple of those too.

In any case, I'm gonna give it a go and see where I end up. You'll most likely see the result

Lienwyn In reply to Autumnchild [2010-12-24 13:30:06 +0000 UTC]

It is huge, yes x'D
Yay! That's all I need to know really ^_^ It was meant to help people so if it does it was all worth it
But yeah, to incorporate all in one picture is pretty tricky x'D

Faber-Castells are really nice, yes, but I prefer to have others as well since Faber Castell aren't as good with bright pictures... But blending stumps are really good, yes I don't use them anymore but they were a life saver before ^_^

Yes, I sure hope that I will

That's one very thorough tutorial O.o I almost believe it's not as much a colored pencil tutorial as a how to draw tutorial. But the nice swatches (really good idea!) and color explanations keep yanking it back to the pencils, so you never miss your purpose!
I think this is a very good beginners' tutorial, you definitely deserve a cookie for your work (or maybe a whole chocolate cake ). Now I want to do some pencil drawing again...

Yay for faber-castell pencils !!

Lienwyn In reply to Nocturne-Kiwi [2010-12-23 23:43:01 +0000 UTC]

My goal was to be thorough x'D So I guess I managed

It did become pretty... urr... wide and basic but I was aiming for beginners I guess, or those with rather little knowledge of coloured pencils... I'm honestly not sure x'D But it's done anyway!
And yay! Cookies!
I do too, I can tell you that much

Yaaay!
