I know! My thought exactly! They both have pretty cool powers too. And this is just throwing stuff out there, but the both are associated with light balls. Mephiles with his Chaos orb and Tikal with her alternate form. (I know, it's random XD)

And then Mephiles discovers Chaos Zero & the secret of Chaos Zero, Final Hazard, Devil Doom & Devil Doom's Chaos Control ability. He would then manipulate time to become the Final Chaos Devil Hazard Zero Doom Solaris! And then Sonic and Co. are all dead and he becomes the ruler of us all.
