The creation of the failed war machine known as Igniallite Amberstay.

While the temporary use of Dust by fusion directly into one's body was already in public knowledge, it wasn't efficient enough to fully replace weaponry, and over long periods of time, became taxing to the human body. An unknown organization conducted an illegal human-modification project to create a fighter that could guadually amplify the power of Dust that is absorbed in the body called The Aesir Project. The aim of the Project was to create the perfect soldiers, capable of weaponizing pure Dust without the use of armaments or machinery, the "Aesir." These soldiers was to be a last line of defense in case of a triggering of a Grimm Twilight or another great war.

Ignia was among the test subjects to have a special type of Dust implanted into her body. She was chosen specifically because of her semblance, which involved the absorption of a person's Aura. This was the one requirement that qualifies a person for testing in the Aesir Project. Along her ability to absorb Aura and convert it into electricity to paralyze enemies or replenish her own Aura, Ignia was given the ability to absorb energy from Dust, and amplify it enourmously at the cost of her own Aura. This was why people with Aura-absorption semblances were chosen, so they could replenish their own without having to rest. A side effect of the experiment was that Igniallite's aging proccess was slowed significantly and that her present appearance is closer to her appearance before the implantation, despite her age. Her body grows half as fast as a normal human's, explaining her short stature compared to her teammates.

It was later found out that mental instability and stress would make her lose control of her power, causing any Dust she absorbs to flare up and become volatile. She was considered a failed experiment and earmarked for euthanasia. She found out about this, and in her panic, the fallout from her uncontrolled Dust energy destroyed the laboratory, and killed the researchers who ran the facility and every test subject besides her.

She ran away after that. Soon, she found the town of Ranslate in Vacuo, and hid there. She was taken in by Sirena Atlantyk, and enrolled in Flarelight Academy. The rest is history.
