Description Melvin Potter AKA The Gladiator, is quite an interesting character in the history of Marvel comics, who has faced almost every “street level” heroes and even killed certain villains, the most notorious of his victims being the Eel, whose properties will eventually help the Black Cat take over New York’s underworld. So it’s just fitting for him to be the last of the three enforcers that had being hired to kill Mayday in my Spider-Man project, the other two being Pomodoro and Coldheart, but since in this universe the majority of the villains and heroes had either retired or died, I think it’s time to give the mantle to someone else.

Bio
Galvan Petrov was a top enforcer for the Russian mob that ruled over New York until Miles Morales, in his last years as Spider-Man, was able to cripple the entire organization with the help of Cloak and Dagger. Now unemployed, Galvan was forced to find a new job as a technician at a museum, which gave him a certain experience in mechanical work and history facts. The job even ended up growing on him, and he was finally able to live a new life. However his past came knocking on the door when a man dressed all in yellow wearing a ski mask showed himself in his house. The man, who simply introduced himself as Pomodoro offered him a deal. He would have been hired for one last job, and his client would have made a generous donation to the museum and to him. At the time the museum needed money and new pieces, and seeing this as an opportunity to keep his job, he accepted the offer. Pomodoro gave Galvan a suit that he designed himself, after the original work of the original Gladiator. The suit came with a pair of gauntlets that could shoot four disks which could be controlled by a console on the corresponding gauntlet, and a belt that generated a protective field of electricity around him. His duty was to eliminate Spider-Girl, which Galvan thought it would have been quite easy. So he orchestrated a fake robbery by hiring the low level crook Peter Petrusky, AKA Trapster, to use as bait. Mayday fell right into the trap, but she was able to took her aggressors far away from the civilians and fled. Unfortunately her web-shooters were severely damaged by one of Gladiator’s disks, making her escape a lot more harder. While running after her, Gladiator stumbled upon the Toad, who offered him his help, unless he would help him unmask Spider-Girl, rather than killing her. Not wanting to get his hands dirty, Galvan accepted the proposal, and planned a trap with his two accomplices. Thanks to the Bugle’s cameras they tracked down Spider-Girl and forced her to come to an abandoned apartment using a fake hostage. Despite the disadvantage of restricted spaces, Mayday was able to get the upper hand on the three, forcing Toad and Gladiator to flee, leaving Trapper behind to be capture by the police. Gladiator will sometimes work for the Daily Bugle as well, orchestrating plans to frame the wall-crawler, in order for the bugle to make articles. This version of Gladiator isn’t as sociopathic as the canon, and modified his equipment to be less lethal. His runs with the bugle however are also well appreciated by his shady client/clients which have rewarded Galvan and the museum, as they believe this to be the best strategy to slowly destroy the heroine.
