Something tells me this story is not going to end well for the feathered one....I did this piece for 's repeating contest over at [link] I like the idea of the monthly contest. It gives me a reason to get off my butt and start working on pieces again. February's theme is Angels and Demons.
Just a a side note... even the feathers in the background are rendered.

The scene was generated using a technique called cel-shading/rendering where the contrast of the material nodes is increased to give hard shadow edges. Rays cast during the rendering process are also examined for object edges to give the appearance of "ink" lines.

I know this is a small part of the picture, but I really like how the angel's feet are crossed over eachother in that innocent-yet-awkward pose. Maybe it's just the angle you captured it at, but it looks like she stuck the heel of her sandal under her other foot, and that's just completely what a fidgety, hesitant person might do (done it myself a couple times whenever I wear flip-flops and was bored).

I agree. I really like how her pose turned out. I am thinking about doing another piece with just her in it with this same, or very close, pose. Only that piece would be a regular render and not cel shaded.
