I'm confused :> Heeheeh

Can't open PSD files in oC. But yes, you can open BMP or JPEG files.

alrighty ^^ great guide. I still have a question though. Let's say.. you have a file you drew by hand (with a pencil) you scan it, and put it on your pc. Is there anyway to send it to OC? you know, to color it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Somnilocus In reply to TheWanderingGambler [2007-09-19 20:30:49 +0000 UTC]

Just save the file as jpg or bmp and open it in oC. New Layer -> Multiply

Not sure if this question has been asked yet, but I'm having huge trouble with the networking. I can't host, and neither can my friend that I'm trying to connect to.

I keep getting this...fake IP or something, I think it has to do with my firewall? I don't know really, I've tried setting it up so openCanvas can go to the internet through the firewall but wah. It's ok if you can't answer this, it's a bit technical XP But um, suggestions would be really appreciated

I'd like to mention that if you use a router the IP you recieve is not correct, my friend tells me that it's a privacy thing, I'm not really sure.

I just Dl'd this from your link, and im yet to try it out, its so foriegn to me, sketching with anything but a pencil on paper... it will take some getting used to. So can layers in this oC be transfered to Photoshop? other wise, thank you very much, im going to try to get my friend this so we can draw stuff. THanks!

Thank you so much for the tutorial! I keep having a recurring problem with the layers system in oC though - when I try and colour over a background layer, the background layer shows through, regardless of the opacity. Is there any way to overcome this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Somnilocus In reply to kizmett [2007-09-19 20:29:21 +0000 UTC]

Hi, sorry for the delayed response--new account now. You may have gotten an answer already, but just in case, and for others reading this:

openCanvas1 doesn't offer any "normal" layer mode. Only Multiply (default), Add, and Subtract.

Multiple is nice for colouring in lineart, but unfortunately it makes painting on multiple layers impossible. So you cannot paint solid colour over other colours on a different layer, you have to work on one layer.
