Means constrict in Latin.An Indian python. Awhile back I had a huge urge to draw either something fishy or scaly, and I guess scaly one. Fishy next time maybe.
Listened to two whole Tool albums this evening while finishing. Feels good that its done. And that I'm pleased with it.
Uh, pencil crayons, watercolours, watercolour pencil crayons and acrylic paints. On matte board.

Holyshit photo-realism here! Wow... Amazing detail with the scales, especially on the snake's head. Love how you defined the scales with white, really makes it pop. How you shaded the snake's underbelly is also quite impressive cause white is frikkin' hard to shade without making it look like a different colour altogether, but you nailed the shading here. Love all the texture in the eye too and the subtle background x]

Chyeeah, I've been listening to a ton of Tool lately. They serenade me while I trudge through my precalc homework. Makes it more enjoyable and bearable. xD
I'm totally hooked on Intension right now. So good!
And I've rediscovered a totally kickass riff in Undertow. Sucks though that its only during the last 30 seconds or so.

The head is just freaking amazing! Thanks for making my day with your tasteful realism. But, really, the scales on the head and the colours are just great. You managed to give it a very lively atmosphere, like it's gonna slither Okay, forgive me, I really don't know what the English word is for a moving snake. Thought it was slither, but I can be wrong xD
out of the frame. I noticed those pretty extra highlights on the top of the nostril, eyes and some of the scales. Great finishing touch, they make the snake look really flexible/graceful. As said before, I also like the blurred background, because it makes the snake stand out more.
Hahah, I guess you were slightly fed up with the scales when you reached the upper right corner; they look a bit rushed and less neat than the rest. But still, the complete picture is a true beauty and a instant

It was difficult but the music helped. I can work for art for over five hours at a time if I have good music to listen to. Granted that my butt isn't screaming in protest though.

I love the face, such a beautiful expression. The shine and highlighting is beautiful, especially on the scales near the nose. I love the shading overall, very realistic. The eye is also quite impressive. I just want to give this lovely creature a huge hug and a pat on its muscular body.

Damn, I really gave my hand a good workout yesterday. That morning I wrote my english exam. Over 8 pages of foolscap(only one side though) in less than two hours. And then nearly three hours that evening on this. Whoo.
