Well, I promised a few people I'd do somethin' like this. I don't actually recommend this way of, uh, doing things, it's just...what I do, which is not necessarily what you should do. See? It's nothing new, either...watercolours aren't as hard to control as most people think! xDRelated content

Gah! I think I'd just use tape! Course, this is a semi decent wood drawing board. Nice to know that presoakything works, though! I guess it might be a bit of trouble for that tape, then... Eh. Just need to do it.
And I think that picture looks good, even if not in a completely realistic way. Then again, I always liked the stylization that watercolors can give, anyway. s'why I'm fascinated by the medium.
So yeah! Finish that thing! If you can get it up, anyway... <.<;

-_-; I don't think I ever will finish it, though, sadly. It was from a live model and it was so long ago. That's the cool thing about really good paper, though-- if you get it in a block (a big stack of them that are all waxed together or something) you can just paint right on it and have minimal warping then just take it off the block when you're done.

[link] They don't show it from the side, but they are waxed together on the side and you can watercolor right on the block and then you kind of have to cut it off with a razor blade, depending on how thick the wax is. They're in separate pieces under the wax. It's hard to explain.

Oooh, okay, cool, thanks! ... That's a lot of commas for that.

I always wondered how watercolor worked...now I want to experiment. Markers are okay, but they only give you so much variety.
I used to use white gels, but they didn't like to go over everything. I converted to using white ink from a well instead. Works just the same if not better.

I've always wanted to try markers! C:
My gels go over everything for me...heh, if I tried white ink I'd probably make a huge mess of things! xD

Aah, a tutorial! Bless you, haah xD
This is great, thanks so much for posting this. Interesting that you outline in pencil, I'll have to try that =O
That and your gel-pens for highlights, I love the way that turns out.
Whoo, guess it's time to break out the watercolors again! ;D

Haven't read the entire way through, but looks like a fantastic tutorial. It's a medium I've been wanting to get into.
Thanks for posting!
