(Gamora saves Peter Quill from getting too drunk and they have an emotional reunion)

Seeing Peter Quill really drunk and fat and taking on the appearance of a Viking confirms to Gamora how Peter Quill has been coping with her death and she is very concerned for Peter Quill’s well being as she hates seeing Peter Quill the way he looks and is behaving as it just isn’t him. It does not take long for Gamora to find her opportunity to get Peter Quill’s attention which comes when Peter Quill is about to take another drink from his beer. Just as Peter Quill lifts a bottle of beer to his lips and is about to drink it, Gamora suddenly comes up to him as if from out of nowhere and grabs him by the wrist with the bottle of beer and renders it immobile so that he cannot move it.

GAMORA (to Peter Quill): Drink that and the only thing you’re gonna feel is a broken jaw.

The shock of seeing Gamora alive and well and hearing her saying what only she would say is enough to break Peter Quill out of his drunkenness as Gamora takes the bottle of beer out of Peter Quill’s hand and puts it out of Peter Quill’s reach. Peter Quill is so very overcome with emotion that he does not hesitate to pull Gamora into a very tight hug that Gamora returns as Peter Quill cries on her.

PETER QUILL: I’ve really missed you, Gamora.

GAMORA: I’ve really missed you too, Peter.

PETER QUILL (with his head buried in his shoulder and feeling very calm): I can’t believe I got you back.
