For more Lil Formers head to www.LilFormers.comMy take on Disney's recent acquisition of Marvel.
Initial predictions:
-will probably make tons of money for both Marvel & Disney.
-Boom Studios will be losing all their Muppet, Pixar, and other Disney licenses once their current contract it up
-will it be good or bad for Marvel creatively? big question mark, though Disney has a pretty poor record creatively the in recent years. I don't read Marvel though these days anyways (despite being a Marvel zombie in my teens), so why should I care, heh.

it's all over the net this morning, as a former Marvel fan I'm not sure Disney is the best partner for their current direction. They cater for different markets.
That said Touchstone was Disney's more mature arm for many years, they may just see Marvel as an extension of that, a brand separate from the rest of the Disney family.
What I can see happening very quickly though is Spider-man and the Hulk joining the electric parade in Disneyland.
I think the biggest fear from fans is that disney will attempt crossovers, I've already seen OMG NO! comments at the suggestion of High School the Musical meets the X-Men.

I don't think DIsney will touch the comics so long as Disney just sticks to the media section like the cartoons and movies. no wait skip the movies can't have them dumbing down the Marvel characters. Other than that if they want to touch the comics then let them touch the kid section of the comics in Marvel.

What could Disney do that Marvel hasn't? How many hero movies have been re-hashed in the last few years alone? I've seen better Disney movies lately than I have "Fantastic Four".

I see this as something like a Disney/Square Enix deal. They produced Kingdom Hearts. If Disney is smart about it, they'll just have an influence on Marvel rather than a complete take over.
think about what would happen if Disney got Pixar and Marvel to work together on something.

Marvel and Pixar together? Seems almost like a contradiction in terms.
Other than that, nice strip, Matt.

You do know that this may lead to another come back for a Gargoyles comic, as well as a Tron for the upcoming movie.

Disney is going to destroy the world. Poor Industrial Light & Magic though - majority of their effects work will probably go to the Pixar sub-branches now. I think from a film perspective Disney will screw them over scripts wise for anything and everything.
Wasn't Disney already being narky at Pixar over Up and it's highly unmarketable lead character - an old cranky man? McDonalds can't sell Happy Meals of geriatrics apparently...it's just not marketing friendly. John Lasseter said stuff 'em.
Given as an animator I hate modern Disney for what they represent...my opinion is probably moot.
I just can't imagine Wolverine being bossed around and paid by a 4ft tall mouse in red suspenders...

How about Wolverine being bossed around and paid for by Goliath from the Gargoyles? Ya know, that more serious action-based Disney show that was awesome?

That wouldn't be too bad. I always thought that was by WB until I realised a few years later it wasn't. But Goliath isn't really the boss you know? Sad. The corporate bigwigs take into consideration marketing stats and how commercial you can make something first before the actual script and design. They make it a business rather than an art.
Time will tell.

Saaaaaaaaaaay... would it then be possible for Goliath and pals to exist in the Marvel U, or at least have the comic renewed at MARVEL?! Or maybe get a new series on the way?! AM I BEING TOO HOPEFUL?!
And Goliath could kick Wolvies butt.

Actually Marvel will probably go the way of Miramax and quietly put money in Disney's pocket without really being touched.

S'what I'm thinking, cept I see it in a more of Time-Warner/DC buyout way where the comic stuff is left alone but the big head company does a bunch of cartoons and finances films and such. Marketing the properties in the non-comics venue and letting the comic side of things be run by those who should run it and have experience doing so.

You know, it's funny... You're the third person to say they don't care because they don't read Marvel anymore. XD Not that I have an opinion on the subject since I never read American comics anyway...

Funny comic.
I don't think anything negative will happen now that Disney owns Marvel, but I would like to see a Mickeypool figure. Or maybe a shouting match between Donald Duck and the Hulk.
