He seemed fine as Deadpool in the Wolverine movie but before that I'd never heard of the guy. Hopfully it'll be a good choice. Unfortunately it means he most likely won't be in the planned Deadpool movie, so that'll either be recast or more likely just fall apart... Oh well, I am a bigger GL fan than Deadpool anyways!
As for my expectations on the GL movie, here's hoping they don't screw it up. My thought is, a truly great GL movie would have to be space-based, with the whole GL corps, Guardians, Sinestro etc, which would be very expensive. I dont' think they're willing to spend that much money on an untested property so the best we can hope for is an okay Earth-based movie. BUT if we're lucky it'll make enough money that they do a bigger-budget space sequel. I think GL2 is our best hope for a really stellar Green Lantern movie.
Oh PS... have wanted to do a Deadpool strip for quite a while. I know there're tons of '

W8....is he GL in a cartoon movie..or an upcoming live action movie, because I thought/heard he wanted to play The Flash ( Fastest man alive from Justice Legaue) which was going to be a solo movie just about that character. I really wish he does flash, because I think he has the characteristics of portraying him very well.

Reynolds has appeared in at least 3 movies in the last 6 months alone! GL is further along as far as pre-production and will probably hit screens first, but Reynolds is a HUGE Deadpool fan. I don't see any reason why he couldn't do both.
Of course, FOX may disagree with me... dicks.

According to the the almighty Wikipedia he's still scheduled for both films, but I actually hope he stays on Deadpool if he has to drop one for the other. He's better suited for Deadpool. He's awesome at playing an egotistical, witty, but lovable jackass. Ever seen "Van Wilder?"

A GL film would be awesome, I reckon Ryan fit's the bill! I'd personally prefer him in that than the Deadpool movie seeing as I didn't like what they did with the character once the experiments were made (he was great when he "had a mouth").

DC hasn't messed anything up in awhile, and if they take a pit from Marvel and produce it in-house, then I think fans should rest assured that they'll get it right. Ryan is more of a funny man, but I can see him as wise cracking pilot Hal Jordan.

LOL. Reynolds has been around a while but is always best in comedies. I understand his casting for his look and growing fan base, but I'm not sure if he can carry a movie that's not comedic in nature. Then again he's never done a film filled with effects either so.... As for the space thing, I'm a huge GL fan myself and I totally agree. Won't be done 100% right with out the space epic aspect, only time will tell

Ryan Reynolds,....a comedy actor being a villain in the Wolverine movie...and now GL?...wow...they're really running out of people to play heroes. I never would have expected it. I just can't imagine him playing Hal Jordan...I think I've just been Van Wilder'd to death with his style of comedic acting. I mean there was Van Wilder, Waiting, and that movie with him and Sandra Bullock, The Proposal, I think. Now, Wolverine and GL? Well, who knows? Maybe it'll be a suprise hit?

get some busty babes, colour them red and pink, youve got female GL's, hire some dwarfs, colour them blue, youve got gaurdians...cheaper than doing a normal movie, use all the old space stock footage from previous sci-fi films haha

My idea for Green Lantern movie is this, first movie sets the villains the Manhunter robots against the GL corp instead of Sinestro as the main villain. the reason I say this is because I think it would be cool if the movie explored the relationship between Hal and Sinestro before he turned evil. at the end of the movie Sinestro turns evil and in the second he gets the yellow ring.

To be honest I see him more as Deadpool than GL, hell he even wanted to be The Flash, it could've worked out as the guy talks a LOT, Hal Jordan is kinda cocky but doesn't talk as much as Raynolds does, Deadpool suits him better, I just hope they don't screw it up by making it too family-friendly like they did with Superman Returns =/

That is one of the scariest things I have ever seen.
You're probably right about the GL movie, they probably will have it based on Earth. Still, it wouldn't be to surprising if Sinestro still showed up as the villain, after all, he is one of the greatest GL villains. And in the next movie, they could have the Sinestro Corps to up the ante and have a reason to include more of the GL Corps.
