5 panels, wow! Longest Lil Formers ever?

Just something I have noticed lately, DC has gone Krypton-wild. Of everyone I mentioned, Earth-two Superman is currently dead (he'll be back shortly). and I think Kingdom Come Supes went back to his own time (haven't read that far in JSA yet). Otherwise they're all around, heh.

I think I mentioned everyone but Christopher Kent, who I don't really know much about...

Superman knock-off? Rob Liefield's "Supreme", Wildstorm's Mister Majestic, Marvel has a Superman Knock-off in a Yellow and Blue suit (who is also psychotic) I think he has an 'S' on his chest too.

As far as DC goes:
Kingdom Come Superman and Evil Superboy Prime and since The Multiverse returned, there are probably Millions of Supermen habitating the Multiverse

I suppose Power Girl ought to be much more lonely than Superman by now. She's the last Kryptonian from a whole frikkin' universe that doesn't exist any more!

Still, yeah... an awful lot of Superman-ish people running around the DCU. But there's only one Superman again! (Do love the ending they gave Kingdom Come Supes in JSA.)

Nice work, Mr. Moylan. Long time fan.

Well, he is Clark Kent, and nowadays he is called Superman-Prime(since DC can't use the name Superboy any longer). And he's predated only by earth-two Superman, so pretty much counts as much as the rest.

Actually DC are using the Superboy Prime name again, that's what he's being called in "Legion of Three Worlds" where he's currently appearing.

The Kandor Kryptonians relocated, and now all of the Phantom Zone Criminals were released, destroying the phantom zone (Since it was created for Zod, once he left it started breaking down.) and pardoned by Supergirls mom, who's running the show right now. Zod has been reinstated and Mon-El (Who isn't a Kryptonian, he's a Daxamaite (Kryptonian Offshoot race)) is taking over for Supes while he joins the Kypto's, probably to keep an eye on Zod. Mon-el took a "Kent" name while supes is gone, so I'm thinking he might be taking over for superboy at some time in the future. I'd like Conner back, but with the problems with royalty payments to the Shusters, that's not likely.

They also did What-If/Crossover story during the DC "Armageddon 2001" in the early 90's with Waverider looking into one of 3 possible future where Lois and Clark got married, she took fertility pills which allowed her to get pregnant. However later in the pregnancy the baby kicked which caused her and the baby to die.

I never read that one, but there's a what if title where he has a son, but Superman has been in like a secret government holding cell by lex luthor and dosent know he has a son... it was a great read. Like i said i think theres a way for clark and lois to have kids, I'm sure its possible. Espcially since most superheroes/aliens seem procreate very well with humans lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TonyForever In reply to mjtfreeze [2009-04-10 07:01:29 +0000 UTC]

I'm not familiar with that story. I think that why Superman can't procreate but other Aliens can is cause Media wants to keep Superman grounded in reality that they don't want to follow those other Alien stories. Kinda STUPID since we're talking about a Man from another planet who flies and shoots fire from his eyes.

Makes me wish these IDIOTS would knock off the strict adherence to Reality since I watch movie and read comics to ESCAPE Reality.

The only reality I want from characters in any fiction is how they behave in an Adventure, Personal Crisis, Tragedies, Triumphs and conflicts/relationships with Enemies, Friends and Loved ones.

I relate to a well written character regardless of the absurdity the adventures may be

Lois and Clark have done it. Their a happily married couple (I hope)

In a recent storyline (I think it was when Christopher Kent disappeared during the Zod story) The Writers and Editors in their infantile wisdom had Clark ask Jor-El that important question to which he sadly states that Kryptonians and Humans can't procreate.

Of coarse that is just an Editorial-whim/RETCON away from being a non factor. I'm waiting for that Cover with Lois in only a button up shirt(and No Pants)telling us the reader "Smallville I've got some news for you"

(kind of a swipe on a Spiderman cover where MJ tells Peter that she expecting)

mjtfreeze In reply to TonyForever [2009-04-09 13:59:57 +0000 UTC]

I think kryptonians and humans should be able to procreate, cuz then Jor-El was bad dad, let me send my only son to a world where he can't continue the kyrptonian race with a beautiful woman lol It would be awesome for him to have a son, espcialy since they made Bruce Wayne get one in Batman Beyond

TonyForever In reply to mjtfreeze [2009-04-10 06:55:50 +0000 UTC]

That would suck!

I just got done watching the Superman I and The Donner Cut of II and in that Jor-El proves to be an even lousy father expecting Clark to serve Humanity and not have any Love at all.

That is the only thing I didn't like about the Superman Films. The Emphasis on His "Savior" Duties does not give him a right to have love. In terms of that I prefer his life in the comics much more.

Which is why I preferred Clark in "Lois & Clark" and the Comics today. He's found balance with his role as Superman and with Lois. As I said, he and Lois are a retcon away from having a child of their own.

I'm still waiting to see how Clark turns out in "Smallville" I hope he turns out not having that Savior Complex of the Movies and finds that balance.

I'm hoping that Smallville will end at season 9 (but I have a feeling it will go 10 seasons)

I've become very critical of the show as of late. As far as Clark goes, I was okay with his wishy/washy-ness of seasons 1 through 4 because he was a Highschool kid. But then as season 5 started the producers were saying "This is the year that Clark begins to accept his destiny"

But what he got was Clark making More of the same Mistakes he made the first 4 years and a OVERLOAD of ANGST! I was So SICK and TIRED of Lana from season 5 to 7.

He didn't start to embrace his Destiny until this Season! Clark was starting to act like Superman this year.....until Lana rears her face and Clark reverts back to Whiner-Mode again. What made me more mad was the "Tragic" FINAL end to Lana and Clark's relationship basically made Lois a Silver Medal for Clark.

In my eyes, Lana was barley a BRONZE!

Lana was ok in the first couple of seasons....but she kept getting Clark all down, in my eye:

Chloe is Platinum
Lois is Silver
Lana is Bronze

Chloe is the best for Clark really and trully. No offence to the hardcore fans ( im 1 myself), just that I'v grown to love Chloe.

TonyForever In reply to mjtfreeze [2009-04-11 23:31:21 +0000 UTC]

No Offense taken. To each his own.

-I love Lois From the Mid 80's to Now because she was made into a 3 dimensional character other than the to 2-bit superficial Bitch she was from the Golden-Age to the end of the Silver-Age. Margot Kidder and Kate Bosworth epitomize what I hated about her while Teri Hatcher, Dana Delany and Erica Durance brought more of a human quality to her. She was still a bitch but she was likable.

-I was on the fence with Chloe borderline Hating her for the first 3 seasons. I found her annoying with her constant inability to respect Clark's privacy. But I grew to really like her when she learned the Truth and basically was a better sidekick than that whiny little B!tch Pete was.

Lana I could go one for days about why I hate her as a character. It almost goes hand-in-hand with why I hate the Movie Version of Mary Jane Watson.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mjtfreeze In reply to TonyForever [2009-04-13 01:01:24 +0000 UTC]

Teri Hatcher was the best Lois Lane. As soon as Chloe found out about the truth with Clark, to me she became Lois Lane in her own way, total shame as I sometimes watch the show just to see her reactions/expressions lol But all this could have been avoided if Clark never turned back time in the first place when he was engaged 2 Lana and Lex killed her. The storyline potential and respect for source & fans, was the highest ever....until Clark turned back time with Jor-El.

Lana was ok in the first seasons, as well as Mary Jane, but she was annoying/weak in the 3rd spider-man. Which is why I really like the fact, that in the new animated series, Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker are pinning for each other. Even though MJ is in the show, you dont feel that he should be with her automatically. Which makes me wish smallville adopted this with Chloe.

Wikipedia's definition of Retcon
"Retroactive continuity: is the deliberate changing of previously established facts in a work of serial fiction"

Some Retcons if written well can be good. But others are sometimes insulting and out right Bad.

Classic example of a okay retcon:
-Laurie Strode being a stalker victim of Michael Myers in Halloween, is revealed to be his sister in Halloween 2. (Halloween creators never intended to make a sequel)

Examples of Bad Ones (IMO)
-Normon Osborn: after years of being DEAD is revealed to have survived his final confrontation with Spider-Man during the Death of Gwen Stacey and was behind his troubles during the late 90's.

-Harry Osborn who was at the time still recovering from his drug addiction at the time of his father's "death" was some how there to save his life. (Never mind that he was in no condition to even be there, not to mention he was never aware of his dad's goblin activities until several months later.)

A Worse retcon was that Somehow Gwen Stacey who was in love with Peter, somehow turned into a big slut and got herself knocked up by Norman Osborn which led to her Leaving Peter for London back in the 70's which also led to why Normon decided to kill her other than for the fact that She was someone Peter loved!?! (from a Spiderman story written a few years ago)

-Season 7 & 8 of Smallville: The whole Veritas-Traveler-Doomsday's Origin was a major Retcon of the entire Smallvile series. It doesn't add to anything other than Contradicting everything they've established

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mjtfreeze In reply to TonyForever [2009-04-11 23:10:00 +0000 UTC]

then one good "retcon" would be.....giving him the costume by the end of this season, and making him hook up with Chloe lol

I really hope in the Final episode of Smallville in the last act we see Clark (w/ Glasses) making a lame excuse to leave Lois, The classic "Look up in the sky" bit from the people and seeing Clark flying and landing atop of the Daily Planet globe in full on Superman gear. Maybe the Final line is Lois say "What a Superman...."

At least something to that effect. After being invested in this show for this long, the real pay off is seeing Clark as Superman in the end.

mjtfreeze In reply to TonyForever [2009-04-13 00:48:14 +0000 UTC]

again I agree with you, invested nearly a decade in smallville, they got to end it with him being superman or it would be a complete waste of time.

As Clark IS an alien, we're not sure that they're genetically compatible so might not be fertile together, never mind the possible complications of Lois trying to carry a baby with even low level superpowers to term (Put it this way, in most cases the baby kicking in the womb is a great thing, but with superstrength, that's not going to be pretty)

but couldnt he just make a device that emits red sun rays, 2 hinder the baby's power ? Also I read a comic where Superman has a son with Lois, but I think it was a "what if storyline"... so it dosent have any continuity
