Description
My rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. I have to say, I was really influenced by golden age illustrators when working on this piece, people like Kay Nielsen and Virginia Frances Sterrett. Their work is so beautiful, and I highly recommend that anyone who enjoys my piece looks up theirs as well.This took a LOT of time because of all the detailing that I did in the trees - I'd say it totaled out to around 50 hours. Let's just say I watched a lot of Law and Order while making this one.
I did all of it using pen and ink, a red Prismacolor colored pencil, and 18x24 Strathmore gray toned sketch paper.Tumblr

trees paid off, have to say i LOVE your style for the trees., I love the flow in the trees as well, with how the pattern connects with the stone path; and the flow in the wolfs fur is a fantastic contrast.

Oh, thank you! I actually had whooping cough when I was working on this (back in november), and was in and out of the ER. So even though it was painful, I'm really proud of myself for finishing it.
