Description
My rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. I have to say, I was really influenced by golden age illustrators when working on this piece, people like Kay Nielsen and Virginia Frances Sterrett. Their work is so beautiful, and I highly recommend that anyone who enjoys my piece looks up theirs as well.This took a LOT of time because of all the detailing that I did in the trees - I'd say it totaled out to around 50 hours. Let's just say I watched a lot of Law and Order while making this one.
I did all of it using pen and ink, a red Prismacolor colored pencil, and 18x24 Strathmore gray toned sketch paper.Tumblr

This is amazing. I can't imagine it was very easy to do all those circles. Reminds me of the old artwork to my mother's vintage copies of the Chronicles of Narnia books. Also, the red really pops, here. I love the moss on the rocks(?) but I think the wolf's fur is probably my favorite part of the drawing.

This is a good concept and the details are smooth, but the overall contrast is lacking. If there were more delineation between the background and figures the overall composition would look less muddled.
Overall a very nice piece!
