Description
Last part is here! Yup, that was pretty quick compared to other releases.Look's like MrCrazyGuy didn't do the worst job after all!
EDIT: While digging trough rage comments on Reddit I discovered something that really required to be changed in the comic - From what I heard Direct Hit's damage can be upgraded only by 3 points instead of 4 like in any other rocket launcher. That makes this weapon completely useless, since it can't even advance in dealt damage.
Hey Reddit! I said that DH "is good but it is not" only to avoid more shitstorm from your side, since I saw a lot of people using it (but apparently this is a lose/lose business). No worries, I won't care for anybody anymore.
EDIT: Beggar's Bazooka is now as good as Stock Rocket Launcher. It's a matter of personal preferences now.

Either way, the beggar's bazooka was practically made for my playstyle in mvm:
Barrage as many rockets as I can in the shortest timeframe possible.

it is only the roicket speed we are talking here. It does not deal more damage, since the damage upgrade on this weapon is reduced to 3 points, instead of standard 4. And that is not a money save, since you need to spend much more money than that on just splash damage upgrade. Not to mention its only reliable upside, which is a guaranteed crit on an airshot is a thing that is rarely used in a heat of battle, since you don't get many opportunities like that.

There's also a trick with the beggar's where you tap-fire it like a semi-auto, rate doesn't really matter too much.
This lets you load a shot, then fire it, and repeat without the annoying middlemen involved, really useful when you need to keep a constant barrage up.
It's like a belt-fed Rocket launcher.

I approve of this comment, the bazooka is probably the most underrated weapon in MvM. Many see it as βa decent weaponβ. In reality, it is one of the most powerful, well rounded primaries to the point some experienced players call it overpowered.
βBeg of tricks: exploring the full potential of the most powerful weapon in MvMβ is a guide that explains why the bazooka is so good, if you like reading and a lot of numbers.
The TL;DR version is the following: Thanks to a few hidden stats, the bazooka can fire rockets faster than any other launcher. The key is to only load one rocket at a time (rapidly tapping mouse 1). With reload speed fully upgraded the bazooka shoots slightly slower than a fully upgraded stock launcher, but the stock launcher must stop to reload its clip while a bazooka soldier can keep tapping. Fully upgrading firing speed only slightly speeds up the bazookaβs firing rate.
- Cheaper upgrade path: Firing speed (and clip size) arenβt important anymore, allowing a bazooka soldier to go straight for damage upgrades.
- Better anti-tank DPS: Bazooka shoots more rockets than any other launcher. Tanks are big and slow. The bazooka is the 2nd best anti-tank weapon, coming right after the phlogistinator.
- The bazooka doesnβt need to reload, giving it an advantage when you face steady streams of robots, it also givesβ¦
- More synergy with heal on hit effects. Concheror and mad milk go hand in hand with the bazookaβs constant fire rate. Bazooka/Conch soldier is jokingly referred to as the βarmy of oneβ loadout for soldier.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfilesβ¦
I do agree that it isnβt the best weapon for starters. Correct Bazooka usage requires a really aggressive close range playstyle. But it is really bugging me how many high tours donβt even seem to be aware of what the bazooka can do.

Everything can work on mvm with use of tricks and tips, but Beggars is really not the best choice for the starters. They need something very simple and very effective, to exclude the newbies as one of the problems on the battlefield.

The guide was made before air strike got its release. It's still not the best choice of a weapon, even if it's fun to use. Maybe it got a bit better after the latest update, but it's still not tested.

The Cow Mangler isn't such a bad MVM weapon. It lost its reload speed and damage nerfs, it CAN (contrary to popular belief) be Minicrit charged with the Buff Banner, and its infinite ammo gives you needed versatility without having to "constantly run around the battlefield to reload it."
i still have a Beggar's for when the team won't let me use my Strange CM5K.

correction about the beggars, you only dont get ammo if it's active. so that downgrade can easly be countered. and if you get reload speed upgrade and more ammo its downsides tend to be few

Hey,I'm a bit newer to TF2, and I love playing MvM. I really like your guides, and I was wondering if I could ask for some more advice. Soldier and Scout are my favorite classes, but I'm missing a couple of the recommended items, namely the escape plan, disciplinary action, and Mad Milk. What do you recommend I use as replacement?Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Menaria In reply to Warriorofricverclan [2014-06-01 20:12:21 +0000 UTC]
If you don't have a melee weapon for soldier, a stock shovel will do just fine. Those aren't important that much.
About Scout - there's no way for him to not have a Mad Milk and play MvM. You have to get one as fast as possible and if you can't, you can always borrow weapons from Mann Co store in form of a trial testing.

Your comic MvM guides are very neat and pretty accurate, from what I've read so far. One comment on this one, though. Soldier is my least-played class, probably, but I've seen very experienced Soldiers top-damage with the Black Box on Two Cities, presumably because the Heavy wasn't pulling his weight and Two Cities is more about surviving spam than anything. At any rate, I figure there must be something to be said for it.

Menaria In reply to Mister-U [2014-04-20 16:02:44 +0000 UTC]
Well you're able to deal a massive damage even with the most ridiculus-looking combo of weapons as long as you know what to do in the game.
These guides are for people that aren't that experienced.

I don't like the Beggar's like other people, because its inaccuracy gets to be a pain, and reload time often leads to a respawn screen.
But the Direct? The robots are swarming, and the extra damage works wonders. The rocket speed proves to be useful, while extra damage and small radius just makes it a tank killer.
I personally use a blast radius-upgraded Direct hit instead of the stock.
Just sayin'.
π: 0 β©: 1
Menaria In reply to EricLeee [2014-04-20 09:24:43 +0000 UTC]
The Direct Hit don't deal more damage than a stock Rocket Launcher. Even if it starts with +25% more damage, it can be upgraded only 3 times.
Which results in a single-target piece of crap.
Robots are swarming? I don't get it why would you take away a Blast Radius. Even with a Rocket Specialist upgrade it's much smaller area of damaging, compared to any other RL.
Tank Killer? It don't do a better job than a Stock RL.
Want more damage in general? Carry a Buff Banner. The tons of money that you spend to max your rocket specialist and damaga could be spent on Buff Duration that not only doubles your actual damage, but also profits for your whole team.
Preferences=/= Teamplay.
Menaria over n' out.

Beggars Bazooka is the best mvm launcher imo, followed by stock then black box.
If you upgrade the ammo capacity on the bazooka, you can with 2 200$ upgrades load 7 rockets at a time, and if you crit boost before you unleash them you can literally wipe out entire waves of enemies with one blast. In fact, maxed out I'd say its a straight upgrade to the stock rocket

With the recent update that allows you to collect ammo from dispensers while you holstered the beggars bazooza, makes it a excellent choice of weapon now.
Fire barrage, raise the buff flag, gather ammo while blowing the horn and repeat.

ZeroRM [2014-03-09 07:10:23 +0000 UTC]
Actually I've been able to make good use of the Direct Hit at times when we've had the right team loadout, since with upgrades it's rather effective at taking down giants and tanks (and when robots are clustered together in large groups, the lowered blast radius is not as much of a burden)
π: 0 β©: 1
Menaria In reply to ZeroRM [2014-03-09 07:51:47 +0000 UTC]
In fact if we will take a fully upgraded direct hit and fully upgraded stock, the stock still wins, since DH is nothing more but a default with a smaller blast radius. Even if DH starts with more damage, it can be upgraded only by 3 points.
And on wave 3 or 4 you have enough money to strike some damage upgrades into your stock.
π: 0 β©: 1
ZeroRM In reply to Menaria [2014-03-09 08:19:06 +0000 UTC]
Fair enough, though I usually only use the Direct Hit when the team doesn't really NEED my help, at which point I'm just there to take some pressure off of them from tanks and some giants (the former in particular); if they DO need me, I don't usually play Soldier anyway.Β The friend I mentioned in the note usually uses either the Original or the Beggar's Bazooka (if only because sometimes he likes to experiment), and does well if his team has a clue what the hell he's doing.

Black Box can be very helpful especially for a medic and dispenser who areΒ being overworked by a huge wave of robots.Β If invested wisely (and if you're not a idiot with the buff banner) the black box can keep you alive much longer so the medic can focus on others who are too far away to get back to the dispenser or a health pack and as far as the small clip size just invest some into a bigger clip.Β I've gone wave on the new levels where after getting through a mass of heavy bots thinking I needed to be healed now realizing I actually had a health buff from the Black Box's bonus and putting some into getting health from kills

I feel obliged to state that the Bazooka can be good if used by the right person.
Like many weapons, all too often, it isn't.
Also the recent buff that allows to gain ammo from dispensers when not active (ex: when activating your buff banner) is pretty awesome for MvM.

Everything might work if it's carried by an experienced and skilled person, even something like Kritz medic + Third Degree against medics. But those guides are directed to people that don't know a lot about MvM.
I don't recommend Beggars, because it's just not a suitable weapon for a person that don't really know-how as Soldier.
