Description
Made with Apophsysis Prerelease 4.Interesting stuff in this release. It's an ugly way of doing it, but you can have multiple layers that do not interact at all.
Yeah, i see the burnout. No, I'm not happy with it. It's just a quickie render though

Where did you get this Apophsysis Prerelease 4? I googled it and found nothing.

Oh no, I go away and some bright spark complicates Apophysis even more while im gone! Looks very interesting Michael...now we could do with a very basic tut for this Xaos thing!

Sometimes I think you are never happy with your works.
Let me tell you something though, even if there may be a little blemish, it still is miles ahead of what most people can do, and usually there is more to a fractal than perfect quality, especially when you are experimenting with every piece.
Now, with this piece, I love the structure those ellipses make, especially the foreground ones that seem to open up to the cosmos beyond the walls. Great little "road" as well, although I think an alternative color scheme (red possibly?) for the "road" would really make it stand out.

Thanks for the encouragement, Matt.
You are right. i get a little carried away with the blue sometimes

No problem, maybe just some more color experimentation mixed in with your designs would be an interesting endeavor.

I was just talking to my husband about the possibilities if Apophysis allowed layering like UF does. This is very different from all the other Apo fractals I've seen. It will be interesting to see more fractals from this new program.

Perhaps this 'layering' feature explains some of the apparently imposible stuff I've been seeing recently! Is that the faint whiff of Imminent Release wafting its way delicately into my Apo-sensitive nostrils?

the release date for 2.08 is 08/08/08. That is when 2.07 expires. I'm pretty sure this is the first sudo-layered fractal posted.

Sounds like it should be a symbolic date! As to the fractals, it's obviously just a technique that eludes me

Burnout shmurout. It's beautiful! I think the 'burn' enhances it, Michael!

Great Work Michael! The xaos tab with the passing of weight from one transform to another is complex but I'm starting to get a feel for it and what potential it has. What amazes me is how it works. Not an easy one to explain however. The brilliance of Zueuk never ceases to amaze me. I'm also looking forward to trying more plugins with Joel's new plugin addition.

The only thing i've really done is 'disconnecting' transforms from each other, or creating post transforms. definitely fun times in apophysis.

Right, as in setting TO or FROM in the Xaos tab to 0 between transforms?
My Xaos settings get reset all to 1 if I delete a transform?

Yes, i remove links by setting To and/or From to 0. It seems to be pretty smart when deleting transforms or duplicating transforms.

do you mean official sourceforge release or your own branch?

dwsel In reply to MichaelFaber [2008-07-25 20:24:34 +0000 UTC]
well I thought that 'kind of layering' will be that kind a feature that will not appear in regular apo (like 3d that appears in apophysis 3d hack )
I have to try this when Zueuk will release this
BTW..
Nice image Even if you say it's maybe a little to bright I like its complexity of shapes and cloudy look of darker parts.

But what I do know is that this is beautiful. <3

The burnout isn't THAT bad. The visual impact of this one is much better at fullview, though.

what? a fractal artist who doesn't load fullview by default? Blasphemy!

Uh...I do look at other art. And some people post so big that you can't get any idea of the image until you look at the smaller one first...

Not technically layers per se, but this fractal is cool nonetheless.
